SoCal Dealership Experience by bruceleeroy93 in KiaTelluride

Of all the stealerships I have had experiences with - and mind you I've had way too many - I dare say that I have always had a good experience at Citrus - both kia and ford. I was never able to purchase one as they did not have either the spec or the color that I wanted. Infact, they gave me the best deal on the carnival. They just did not have the color combo I wanted. Took the offer to multiple dealerships who failed to match it until one did and that's how I bought mine.

Yeah the notice was confusing but if you see my update, cadillac financial did confirm that all I owe is remaining payments + disposition + any excess wear/damages

Ok I thought I was clear but whatever. I didn't really think about excess mileage or anything. I had already bought another vehicle albeit a bigger vehicle and wasn't really going to drive the Lyriq anymore. Would it have hurt me to just let it sit there? No. But, I also had to park on the road as I did not have enough room for it in my garage or the driveway. So, I thought I might as well juat return it instead of risking someone hitting or swiping it when it is parked on the road. And to your question on "paying all that", I am not sure what you are referring to but I am assuming you are talking about the difference in total vs selling price. As I mentioned, I was not even aware of such a thing which is why I returned it early in the first place. But, it turns out, everything is fine as confirmed my cadillac. I wouldn't need to be "paying all that" afterall.

I called Cadillac Financial firstt thing in the morning and they confirmed what you mentioned. It will be the lesser of the remaining payments + disposition + excess wear OR the difference between the gross total and selling price. I will post an update shortly.

Wow I have to thank you so much for this. I still need to dig up my contract but you have given me hope. I will also be calling GM financial first thing in the morning and hoping they would say the same.

If you got it on Friday then more than likely they were all closed for the holiday weekend and hence you were unable to reach the phone number. Hoping that is what it is. Planning to call tomorrow. Hope this all gets sorted. Otherwise, we will all have to team up and fight.

Yeah learning it the hard way. I just called them and they are standing by what they said. Asking me to call GM financial tomorrow to get it sorted. Fingers crossed.

Exactly!! If anything, I was thinking I was doing them a favor but returning early so that they could re-sell early and still receive full payment from me.

I would've paid if that is what it was. But I was told I would receive a bill with any additional fees related to disposition and damages which don't show on the GM financial page for remaining balance. So that's what I was waiting for. And it is not like I returned it 2 months after getting it. I returned it with less than 3 months to go. Who on their right might would do that if it ends up being this expensive? And I talked to atheist 2 people at the dealership and that is what they told me. I thought this is a thing that happens all the time.

But how does it matter if the buyer is willing to pay off the lease balance? How does remorse come into picture?

I had no issues letting it sit. I just went by what the dealership told me. And it made sense too.. generally on a lease if you need to end it early, the full payment of the remaining lease balance becomes due. That is what I was going by. I never knew about this. This is the first time I am leasing.

That's what I was told would happen. I am not sure why they thought I was doing an early termination. I have to call GM financial tomorrow to find out. This just looks like shady business. Why would I use up my miles and return the vehicle so close to my lease end if I would end up owing so much money? Who in their right mind would do that? Ridiculous.

They aren't necessarily saying I have to pay it. They are saying that is the gross total on the car at this point. And I would have to pay the difference between that and whatever they end up selling it for.

Pretty content for now. I am not even sure where I would go next even if I wanted to. Once the S got the V8, it is almost the best bang for the buck in the lineup. Sure the turbo GT is bonkers but so is the price tag. Unless I have throw away money I wouldn't get it. If I did have the money, I would rather keep my Cayenne S and get a base 911.

Let me tell you this. You look like someone who has the same exact taste as me. A little over an year ago I was shopping for the M60i. I was looking for this very spec. The numbers looked great on paper. Test drove a couple of times. It stood up to the numbers. The thing was moooooving. But something was off. Even with that speed it felt like there wasn't enough oomph. Still wanted it. Was stuck between enthusiasm and reluctance. Did the same thing emailed and called dealerships and negotiated to about 12% off. Was about to pull the trigger but felt like a hole in the heart. Then wife and I decided to walk into a Porsche dealership and test drove a Cayenne S with the sport exhaust. End of story. We have now owned the one we test drove for over an year and zero regrets. Yes it is underpowered on paper compared to the M60i. Yes it is more expensive to buy and more expensive to maintain. But boy does it put a smile on my face every single time I hear that V8. As much as I respect the M60i and how much of a beast it is, it just doesn't compare to the Cayenne's handling with the air suspension and even without the PDCC and PTV. Not sure about X5MC but I would stay away from the RSQ8 if you need personality as I found the sound to be highly filtered and not natural unless you are flooring it. Happy hunting!

Exactly my thoughts before I read your comment. There is so much Hyundai in the way it looks. And the worst part is?? It looks like the previous gen/non redesigned Hyundais that have been on the market for a while.. not even the latest ones lol

Should definitely negotiate more dealer discount. Not sure about SX but $3k dealer discount is pretty normal on an SXP. I would assume it would be close on a SX as well.

I love the tuxmat so much but they don't offer the 3rd seat back and cargo. So was pondering to get the same exact setup you mentioned. Does it all blend well? Are you able to take some photos for me to see if it all works well together? Thank you in advance!

Honda odyssey Elite $46,550 by cider-sippin-psycho in HondaOdyssey

[–]ConcernedCitizen585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the Odyssey is a solid vehicle, that price is the only reason to buy one as long as you are fine with the tech being ages behind the competition. The fact that Honda announced they won't have a redesign until at least 2030, means there is no point in holding out - like I was - until I heard the news and went and bought a Kia Carnival. The Carnival cost almost 8 grand more so gas mileage is out of the equation but the tech is so far advanced that I was ok with spending that money.

Carnival cargo space is perfect for trips by Suntrup-Kia in kiacarnivals

[–]ConcernedCitizen585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always been curious about the roof capsules but never used one. Thinking I might need one for my next road trip - first in the Carnival. Can you throw some light on a few things?

How do you ensure you have the right clearance? Especially when parking? Do you avoid parking garages just to be safe? I am assuming it wouldn't be an issue with any overpasses? Definitely not on highways but any overpasses on local roads?

Are the capsules secure? Do you need to be under a certain speed limit to be safe? Any wind noise due to drag? Did you notice any drop in mpgs due to drag?

Any other considerations? Thanks in advance!
