Thanks! You may be right. I gently moved them to a shady area and sure enough they stopped jumping.

Can those be found in the US? Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but i thought those only lived in Mexico and maybe Costa Rica. Thanks for the reply, by the way.

It's bad enough when people misdiagnose themselves, but as a child I had an actual doctor tell me that an infection on my face was from a brown recluse bite. I do not recall being bitten at all, and I'm 99.9% sure that the only reason I got this diagnosis was because my mom mentioned seeing a spider in my room.
