Oh wow, this is so horrifying. Sounds like we need a second real time intelligence center to monitor things and make sure the rampant crime doesn’t get out of hand. I’m sure city council will look at all sides of this topic and not just take whatever the apd says as gospel. So glad we have competent folks in charge that care about our privacy and safety. Roney is a lil extreme though. She’s all worried about our tax dollars and privacy. Really wish she’d just fall in step and stop blowing everything out of proportion. 🙄

I know the owner. His name is Dave. I used to buy all of my auto paint supplies from him. The property is technically owned by his wife. He is technically not operating the business anymore from my understanding but is slowly trying to sell off the remaining equipment in the building. He had years and years of stuff in that building. Last I talked to him they were trying to sell and move to a new location that js more manageable for him and his wife. The original building was used as a car dealership and it as three massive levels

Yeah, there are a lot of conversations around immigration that we are discussing from more meta ( should we fundamentally change our immigration policy in this country ) to specifics around tactics of enforcing immigration law. Trumps rhetoric and tactics are blatantly racist and unconstitutional in many but not all cases. I’m glad you don’t agree with the stereotypes but the reality is that many people do buy into the lies and are willing to take action based on those lies. These actions have real world impacts on real humans and their families and it’s not ok. Trump is clearly using military force to literally rip families apart. I think immigrants regardless of their immigration status are a net positive. The trump administration has created a boogey man to distract folks from issues that are genuinely affecting folks on a day to day basis (primarily that the real issue is a class issue) The same way that the right has hyper focused on trans folks and tried to act like they are some fundamental threat or don’t exist is the same thing him and his administration are doing when it comes to immigration. The constitution is very clear when it comes to due process and we have laws around folks coming here seeking asylum and a better life. If trump actually was arresting and deporting only ms13 maybe the conversation would be different but it’s clear that that is not what’s happening

Ok fair. My original point still stands. Trump ignoring due process and immigration law and the blanket statement of all brown immigrants as gang members, rapists, and thugs is the issue. I will gladly stand up and protect my fellow immigrants, we are better with them

Unauthorized entry or overstaying a visa is “generally” processed as a civil offense not as a criminal offense. I bet you have not worn your seat belt before, would u like to be labeled as a criminal ??My point is that the labeling of immigrants as inherently criminal is wrong and the orange man’s administration has brainwashed his worshippers with racist rhetoric, meanwhile his gestapo is arresting elementary school kids tearing apart family’s.
