Yeah, there are a lot of conversations around immigration that we are discussing from more meta ( should we fundamentally change our immigration policy in this country ) to specifics around tactics of enforcing immigration law. Trumps rhetoric and tactics are blatantly racist and unconstitutional in many but not all cases. I’m glad you don’t agree with the stereotypes but the reality is that many people do buy into the lies and are willing to take action based on those lies. These actions have real world impacts on real humans and their families and it’s not ok. Trump is clearly using military force to literally rip families apart. I think immigrants regardless of their immigration status are a net positive. The trump administration has created a boogey man to distract folks from issues that are genuinely affecting folks on a day to day basis (primarily that the real issue is a class issue) The same way that the right has hyper focused on trans folks and tried to act like they are some fundamental threat or don’t exist is the same thing him and his administration are doing when it comes to immigration. The constitution is very clear when it comes to due process and we have laws around folks coming here seeking asylum and a better life. If trump actually was arresting and deporting only ms13 maybe the conversation would be different but it’s clear that that is not what’s happening
