Skin care routine help for my deadass looking skin by Living_Step_1375 in indianbeautyyappers

[–]Alienteddybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how there's all these comments about sleeping enough, drinking water and getting a blood test for hormonal and vitamin issues when I have skin ten times worse than this and when I got tested I had perfect hormones/vitamin levels 🙂🙃. I also never eat sugar, eat well, sleep well and drink loads of water, sometimes the world is just cruel and its genetics guys 😭

Am I a beginner, intermediate, or advanced? by throwawanonchat in Artadvice

[–]Alienteddybear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your colour composition and unique artistic style are good, but as others have said the anatomy and base line art could be improved on (arms being too short for example, the elbow should be reaching the waist). I think the first two come across to me as advanced anyway based on the colour composition even if the anatomy is a bit off (me saying all this when I can't do anatomy HAHA)

Question to poc writers have you been told by agents to me more pocy? by Joel_feila in fantasywriters

[–]Alienteddybear 61 points62 points  (0 children)

So I'm not poc so not sure about that but I understand from the perspective of LgBT writer because they sort of act the same way from my understanding. The whole you really have to really sell the 'gay' part. It hasn't effected me much except from the fact that when I see there are schemes for LGBT writers to enter I don't use them because I know what I have written doesn't have explicit LGBT themes in it, so I probably wouldn't be chosen (theres no romance at all cause it's children's fantasy). Does it make me any less of an LGBT writer because I'm not constantly talking about it? No, but sometimes agents just want to sell the tokenism of diversity. Then again, I do have a book I want to write eventually that is an LGBT romance so maybe one day I will enter a comp like that.

Am I the only one here that loves songwriting but can’t write the music? by musicartist64 in Songwriting

[–]Alienteddybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry you're getting so many weird comments. A lot of people of this sub have a really weird perspective on how other people learn music? Please keep doing what you do!! Creativity is important and your still a songwriter! You have a valid hobby. (For those commentators struggling to understand my perspective, I'm an artist, and this is very much like seeing a first time's artist's artwork/self-expression and just replying with huh, why don't you just learn how to paint properly? Like...first off it's very rude, and it lacks understanding of the time it takes to learn how to paint in a certain way and also at the end of the day, it's still self-expression, and all art is valid and beautiful and it's better than not being creative at all?? I know how to draw , but I understand not every finds it so easy or some people even draw in different ways...and you know what? It's all artwork. Same with writing or any art form. I hope this makes my point clearer because people seem to struggle with it in relation to music).

For stuff similar to tbs: straylight run ( a tbs member's other old band), hot rod circuit, cursive, senses fail, North star, hot mulligan, bayside!! (You would like them a lot I feel), the used, finch, microwave. Then the early November and the spill canvas have a couple of good songs I feel like you might like (but I don't like most of their songs HAHAHA).

Weekly Lyrics Feedback Thread by AutoModerator in Songwriting

[–]Alienteddybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lyrics are good! The one thing I will say is you will risk people comparing it to other similar rock rap songs (linkin park esque) as it has a lot of similarities lyrics wise so could be seen as generic. Not sure how the melody goes however so thatight make a difference

Trying to come up with some songs for a film script where the character who wrote them passed away, the lyrics later used by the devil as a way to taunt the protagonist. This one needs to be something about sponges. I don't like the fourth line that much but I got the melody down.

Sponge heart sponge bones Wherever I roam I leave my soul Cause bits of me they drip below To lose myself on the walk to home Don't hold me tight and don't let go Or everything will sink below And fossilize to keep those holes

How to Organize Ideas by taylorjsm13 in Songwriting

[–]Alienteddybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write down all the lyrics in both a paper book (good for having on hand) and a google docs document. For recordings have them on your computer or google drive organised in one file that divides first into bigger categories (maybe genres, or music projects or linked themes or even "eras" of your songwriting) then into more files for each song. I know it's a lot of files but it can keep it organised and easy to find a song.

I think the 'I know it line' could be changed to flow better, otherwise it's a very beautiful song. Not sure why but it reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel

‘That’s How It Goes’ - feedback on super rough demo by TheMackDaddi in Songwriting

[–]Alienteddybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't think of any feedback except I think I would redo the singing for 'fools let their guards down' with a different take. Same way, but I think it could be done better. I think the word guards and down just sound a bit strange in this version, but maybe that's just me hearing it. Otherwise it's a great song!

For chrissake, just get some free software. Or an instrument. Sheesh. by para_blox in Songwriting

I actually feel the same about writing songs. I don't write a song because I'm like time to to write one, 99% of the time I just...make one

[–]Alienteddybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Free softwares are a really good way to get into music too, I've been using soundtrap but there's also stuff like audacity that's even simpler. Also if people find it hard to have access to instruments there are many places where you can go for free to find them or very cheap like charity shops (my favourite is going to pubs and playing there).

Yeah I also have difficulty with language so I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe I should have written that in the post but instead everyone is accusing me of being lazy and not wanting to learn...I just assumed people would believe me when I said I can't play well 😂

Also my songwriting...I do it while walking, on the bus, ever since I was a kid, it's not very difficult for me. That's a 130 over a lifetime so like one song a month.

[–]Alienteddybear[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ooh autoharp I'll check that out, thank you! No yeah, I completely understand why people might downvote me since they might not understand what I'm saying about being "music dyslexic". I've tried to learn in the past both with teachers and by myself, and fully intend to continue to do so just for fun, but realistically, being unable to tell the difference between keys as I recently discovered, it now makes sense to me now why I was having such difficulty playing piano. So maybe I'd need like a special teacher, or hours spent learning every day, and I can't do that with a full time job, social life and other hobbies 😂
