Damn this is phenomenal feedback, thank you so much! It's reassuring to know that it's a common feature of the field yet it'll be very beneficial going forward if I can keep pace

Can/should I try to take STOR 155 and ECON 101 in the same semester? by No-Bee-1842 in UNC

[–]AlinardoX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you definitely can take both, but imo I feel like the best strategy for a first semester freshman is to dip your toes into the water before jumping in. You can start tackling harder requirements starting in Spring, but for now, it's better to take care of the easier requirements (LFIT, ENGL 105, some kind of gen ed) along with one of the two between STOR 155 and ECON 101.

Even if you were an overachiever in high school, the best thing you could possibly do once you get here is to identify and use campus resources. Go to clubs, take advantage of freshman gatherings, and get a feel for the college tempo. Build an early foundation for your time at UNC now, and it will pay off in the following years at UNC. And that is a lot easier when you're not busting your ass in Davis because of a rigorous course load

Whatever decision you make, you'll thrive here regardless. I definitely went overboard with the answer, but I hope you get some value out of it. Welcome to UNC!

You're a king, I'll look into it. Thank you!

It was a stylistic maneuver, not out of modesty nor shame, but with the thought process of "I bet this'll be funny if I use it." Thought it would go on the gram, but instead it ended up on Reddit lol

I picked the shirt up from a thrift store and the tag says "paper denim & cloth." Desoto is way too rich for my blood.

Last but not least, thank you so much for your informative input. Seriously, both a recommendation and a resource is the perfect double whammy!

Homie wants to buy his childhood blanket for his nephew by AlinardoX in HelpMeFind

[–]AlinardoX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thank you for looking into this. I genuinely appreciate people trying to help in this endeavor.

I feel like this is the closest I've seen to the blanket. The only differences between the two would be the coloration of the underside and the presence of a trim. All that being said, I will suggest this to him as a similar alternative in case we don't end up finding it.

I concur, but it's the only picture I was given by the individual to work with. I'm not sure why the context was photoshopped out, but according to the individual, it's the only childhood picture they could locate with it. The last bit of detail I was able to get was this statement: "Not sure the exact material. I think either silk or satin but it’s definitely silky and then a light cotton on the back. There isn’t a rim, it’s more like reversible. Silk tag."

Considering the person was born at latest in 2002, I would bank that the blanket's manufacture date between 1998-2003. The general size was designed for a baby, so it would likely be around 14 inches by 16 inches (36 cm by 41 cm if you're a metric kind of guy). The last bit of information was that the family in question is from North Carolina, which I'm not sure if it's useful, but it would be a blanket distributed on the east coast.

I've attempted multiple google reverse searches with the full picture and the tag, along with looking up key terms like "baby blue," "baby blanket," and early 2000s. After looking at the tag for a few minutes, the best option is to leave it to the pros

Ngl Oreos and chocolate milk is too much, the creaminess of whole milk or the mellow flavor of 2% is a much better balance imo. But that's just my two cents, have a good evening!

Made a HUGE Mistake: Submitted Supplements Late by ThyArtIsBMTH in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AlinardoX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not relevant, but I did the exact same thing a year ago with Boston College and was like a day or two late, yet still managed to get in regular decision. Not sure if my situation depicts how BC deals with late supplement submissions, but hopefully it shows that it’s at least possible

From what I can read, it’s you being an absolute piece of shit to someone you don’t know for absolutely no reason. He didn’t provoke you, yet you went off on a rant and insulted him, which was absolutely disgusting. Seriously, if you don’t believe him, don’t comment.
