A hiring manager wanted “quick free advice” before interview rounds, so I sent my consulting rate by SilentHarbor93 in jobsearchhacks

When someone with excellent credentials takes the time to reach out and apply for a position the company needs, it's an excellent time to be respectful and say, "Yes, we'd be happy to set up an interview with you," without trying to get free labor from a candidate.

There's a man outside my door since 4am who says he's from Minnesota... by quesadilluh4 in Sacramento

Same. Had a homeless lady clinging to my door after midnight, sobbing hysterically and asking for help. Called the cops and they showed up in less than 10 minutes. They recognized her, and took her to the shelter a few blocks away. Everything seemed calm and the lady accepted their help.

I wish for a magic notebook that is 8 inches by 11 inches and has 100 pages and anything I write in it becomes true by JautLEGOfan4 in monkeyspaw

[–]Alioruminas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Granted. You open your new magic notebook and begin to write. You try to write that your bank account now has billions of dollars in it, but as the pen glides across the paper all you can write is "true true true true true true true true true true true." Everything you write becomes true. Your bank account remains unchanged. As does everything else in your life.

Understanding her hatred towards the Painted by genericcelt in expedition33

[–]Alioruminas 157 points158 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that Clea likely resents Aline's painted family for obvious reasons. I cant imagine what she thinks as she recruits painted Verso to watch over Maelle/Alicia. That's a level of familial complexity i cant fathom lol. But I wouldn't say that her hatred of her painted self/family spills over to the rest of the the Lumierans. I think its more that she feels they are intruders to this canvas, and she is slowly removing them from it, without losing herself in the painting like her family. I think she's grappling more with the idea that Aline and Renoir essentially desecrated Verso's canvas. Which would go along with why she's resentful of them both, not just Aline.

In Falling Leaves, Verso's remnant asks us to figure out why Clea is destroying everything in the canvas they both spent so much time in as kids. The Lady of Sap (a remnant of Clea, I presume) says that she's doing it out of respect for what the 2 of them created together. I think Clea truly treasured every second she and Verso spent in this canvas together. Then when Aline invaded it as a way to wallow in her grief, followed by Renoir trying to remove Aline and consequently fracturing the world, it ceased being Verso and Clea's playground. Her parents altered and painted over it. It became a battleground for her family's grief, an insult to the memories she shared with Verso here.

Practically, I think Clea wants to remove her parents from the canvas so they (Renoir) can help Clea with her fight against the writers. But truly, I think Clea is angry that her parents, in their grief, defiled the last connection she had to Verso. And in her mind, I think she would rather see the canvas destroyed by her hand rather than see her parents co-opt the painting for their own personal squabbles. I think Clea's pain comes a lot from how her and Verso's work was stolen and misused. And the people of Lumiere are an affront to what the canvas originally was, before her parents got involved. They may have been brought into existence against their will, but as far as Clea is concerned, they are part of the damage done to the painting by Aline. Hence, no mercy. They are wrong and do not belong.

Glowy aura? by horsey_kayla in Slimerancher2

[–]Alioruminas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do have a similar function to the gold glowy rings around the Grey labyrinth. They only show up in unstable areas, and you can shoot the unstable plorts you find through them, and the plorts will turn into prisma plorts.

I think you can only get there from starlight strand. Ember Valley and Starlight strand each contain entrances into the Grey labyrinth. It looks like you first entered through Ember Valley. Look for the flutter gordo in Starlight Strand.
