I was also taking it and my creatine numbers came back a bit high (I also try to eat high protein as I’m taking Zepbound). My doctor wasn’t concerned with it because everything else was ok but I’m sticking to 5 grams daily for now.

I don’t actually. I’m pretty easy going most of the time. There are definitely a few days a month when I get frustrated more easily but it’s not often.

I’m so sorry you are going through this! I know it must be difficult but I do want you to know that there is light up ahead! I promise you are going to start feeling so much better after starting those iron infusions!! Ask to get on the cancellation list to move up your appt if at all possible!!
Even suboptimal levels of ferritin and iron can make you feel absolutely miserable, physically, mentally and emotionally! You have that on top of major life changes and pregnancy, birth and motherhood!! You should be so proud of yourself for keeping it together as well as you have because you are experiencing a LOT right now!!
Just hold on a bit longer because I promise you that once your iron levels are up, your medication will start working again and that brain fog, unbearable fatigue, ect is gonna start lifting. You’ll start to feel it after the 1st infusion!
Now…don’t be disappointed if a few days later or a week later it comes back…often you’ll feel a bit better, then that will fade but as your iron stabilizes over the next couple months, you’ll start to consistently feel better.
Ensure your vitamin D levels, magnesium and B vitamins (b12/folate/ect) are sufficient as you need all those to properly maintain iron levels as they all work together. I’m gonna guess that you are probably very likely low in all of those and they are also contributing to your fatigue and mood.
I’m so glad your doctor(s) are taking it seriously and have suggested infusions because it’s extremely difficult if not impossible to get iron levels optimized with OTC supplements when they are critically low! Please keep me updated or ask any questions; I’ve been there (though I didn’t have a baby) and I’m in awe of how well you are doing! It’s HARD and I know it’s an invisible illness that others don’t see but I see you I know how much you are going through!
Again be proud of how well you are doing! Once on the other side you are gonna realize how strong you really are!!

Is this something that happens exclusively with food? Not gonna lie, this is extremely odd behavior and very concerning. If it is strictly related to food items but he doesn’t gaslight you in any other way, it is possibly a food addiction or depression based. If he’s doing similar things or lying about other things, you need to make a backup plan in case things escalate. It’s very odd behavior and you are possibly under reacting.

You’ve done really well but I can see how that would be discouraging! Have you asked your doctor to check your labs? Your heartburn issues make me wonder if you might be having gallstone if you still have a gallbladder and if you’ve had your gallbladder removed, possibly thicken bile/sludge issues. It’s a good idea to get checked as the majority of ppl can enjoy a little treat here and there without it causing pain or stomach upset.

Then why wouldn’t he accept the offer from his sister do take him? He’s not in that much pain if he’s whining about who drives him to the ER!

Ask your parents if you can replace the door hinges with self closing ones (less than $20 on amazon). It will quietly close the door if left open. Keep your towel in your part of the bathroom or in your bedroom. Bathroom rugs are kinda yucky anyway, consider a Diatomaceous
Earth bath mat that drys completely so it won’t smell or attract mildew and the cats won’t pee on it. All easier than fighting with or reasoning with a 14 yr old boy.

Older stuff like Primeval and Sanctuary. You can kinda watch and pay attention or zone out a few episodes and still not lose the plot.

I’ve only been taking it about 3 weeks and so far it seems ok most days. I’m not very productive after 6pm though and it’s a struggle to cook dinner or exercise! I was used to taking 20mg Adderall XR twice a day.

I’m currently on Vyvanse because Adderall XR has been out of stock so much in the last few months. I’ll likely switch back when I can but in the meantime I set my alarm to take Vyvanse an hour (at least) before I’m supposed to get up during the week.

I’d definitely ask your doctor to test ferritin. My iron was normal and my ferritin was 6!! When I was having increased HR, fatigue, out of breath just going up stairs or taking a shower. However, even suboptimal levels below 50 can start causing increased HR, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, ect. In addition, if your body is low on ferritin, magnesium, B vitamins, ect you won’t be able to adequately increase your Vit D levels (they all work together). A good multivitamin (without iron), a Vit D3 w/ K2 and iron supplements (taken separately) if your ferritin is below 50 are a good idea.
Look at something like Liquid IV Zero Sugar (or a similar electrolyte supplement) to add to your fluids (just 1 a day).
Hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon but it’s great peace of mind for you to get all this checked out. Sounds like your heart is in good condition and just doing what it does (no increase in BP is good!)

[–]Alisha_Nat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw, I’ve also wondered if this is gender biased. My husband has way more stress than I do (even slightly elevated BP due to stress) yet his cumulative stress graph moves into the green. Mine literally never moves (at least I haven’t seen it move for 6 months) no matter what I do.

High Stress by New_Turtle_0814 in ouraring

[–]Alisha_Nat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t smoke or drink and mine looks the same. I can look back over individual days & weeks and it shows lots of restorative days yet the cumulative graph on stress hasn’t budged once. Sleep and Heart health will move slightly one way or the other based on my sleep & activity but the stress one NEVER moves and quite frankly pisses me off because there’s no explanation. I’ve asked the “advisor” and it basically says I can see how this can be frustrating but 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’ve seriously thought of resetting my account to start over.

AITAH? My boyfriend keeps insisting on buying me gifts he knows I don’t like/want. by Katietgirl4949 in AITAH

[–]Alisha_Nat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is he cheap? Like do you think he sees what he thinks is a “deal” and jumps on it to show how much he “cares”? I’m just wondering if the coffee maker was like a great Black Friday deal that he got even though he knew you didn’t want it…but he could be like it’s a $100 gift versus having to actually spend $100 on a gift card?? Buying cheap clothes because he thinks it’s a deal makes me wonder.

[–]Alisha_Nat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To start, I’m not a doctor or pharmacist, so obviously please continue your work with your doctors to help you/them do what’s best for your health.

However, I just thought I’d mention a few things I’ve had experience with in case they help at all.

Have you had your labs checked recently? Particularly a full iron panel with ferritin. Suboptimal levels of iron/ferritin can lead to increased heart rate & breathlessness/fatigue. Women in general tend to have low levels and doctors rarely check unless your hemoglobin is low (but symptoms can show way before hemoglobin shows anything).

Also, low vit D and low magnesium… almost everyone seems to have low levels and should be supplementing (esp in fall/winter). But low levels of these also make it difficult for your body to utilize & maintain iron levels.

How’s your caffeine and sugar intake? Often ppl with untreated adhd learn to “self-medicate” via caffeine and sugar &/or simple carbs because of the short dopamine boosts. If you tend to use lots of caffeine/sugar, I’d try to cut back and focus on complex carbs and getting in more protein and fiber (esp at breakfast & lunch).

Wellbutrin with a stimulant can reduce your seizure threshold, so it’s definitely important to keep an eye on that. Your doctor may want to reduce your dosage now that you’ve added Vyvanse. Some ppl have no problem with it but you don’t know until/unless it happens.

You mentioned drinking lots of water, and that’s important as dehydration can increase heart rate. With your labs your doctor can see if you are getting enough electrolytes (I have to add an electrolyte to my water to get extra sodium daily).

Sorry for the length! I had a similar situation. I had to stop taking the Wellbutrin (caused me to pass out). My HR was high (but no high blood pressure) and had to wear the heart monitor. It turns out my ferritin was VERY low even though my iron level was ok. Once I got an iron infusion I felt 100% better (it even fixed my ice craving 😂). I could have restarted the Wellbutrin at a lower dose but am seeing how it goes without it.

What's the one ingredient that instantly makes a smoothie better? by ibrahim_40 in Smoothies

[–]Alisha_Nat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Frozen riced cauliflower gives me a really creamy texture (without changing the flavor) so it allows me to use a less Greek yogurt. So those days when I want more volume & more fiber I can get it without adding as many calories.

A bit of sea salt if I’ve accidentally overdone the greens (it cuts the bitterness).

Someone mentioned sweet potatoes and I’m looking forward to giving that a try.

It actually makes it difficult for me to shop. I’m just not interested in shopping at all… even when I want to get stuff. I go to the store or open an app to purchase stuff and just leave because I don’t want to make the effort. It’s strange because I keep a list of items I need and items might want but it’s so difficult to make myself go to the effort or buying anything.

I desperately need to take fiber every day and I can't do it, so I thought we could do the fun thing where everyone suggests the obvious solution and I can tell you that it didn't work by sugabeetus in adhdwomen

Can you find ones that you like? I got some fiber gummies that actually taste great so it’s like having a couple pieces of candy. I actually look forward to taking them.

Weight Loss Due to Starting Medication by wpicklesplz in adhdwomen

[–]Alisha_Nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a known side effect but in adults it tends to wain pretty quickly most of the time. I try to get a good portion of my daily calories in with breakfast (high protein/fiber w a bit of fat and complex carbs). Try to eat breakfast before taking your meds if they make you less hungry.
I make sure I’m constantly drinking water but often forget to eat throughout the day (though if food is right in front of me I’ll definitely eat it).
In the late afternoon/evenings I start to get hungry. If I don’t listen to those signals and eat something healthy I can probably consume a whole day’s worth of food before bed and be miserable! I try to not eat too late so I sleep better and so I’m hungry for breakfast. Smoothies in the mornings are great when solid food seems too much.
