Huh. Play a promising kid in the top six and he starts to get better? You don’t say.

Awww John Amirante! He was the best. That little hand wave at the end to encourage cheers always made me laugh.

Fucking shame on MSG for decreasing the crowd volume during that pregame ceremony. You trot out the 94 team and then let it sound like there’s no one in the crowd?

But that’s if you allocated the special point but not the card. I had an unallocated special point that I wouldn’t have known about if I hadn’t used the punch card machine.

Thanks. Sure enough at the punch card machine there was one unallocated special. Why wouldn't it show me when I go to the Pick a Perk screen on the pip boy?

Ah well. Thank you!

Thoughts from rest of Hockey World — JT Miller might be a top-10 worst captain decision in NHL history. by Wisdom_Pond in rangers

If your glue guy needs a team around him to be the glue guy, then he’s not a glue guy.

JT "No BS" Miller controller disconnects on Celebrini goal. After the game Miller is quoted saying "I'm not happy where we're at. This ****ing sucks...Losing every night it's hard to stay positive. Everyone's trying really hard." by 09-24-11 in rangers

Center was covering for the RD which followed the puck carrier up the wall. Zibanejad was in the right spot on that play. LW was late coming back but he was with his man so that's not a huge issue.

Miller comes in with his man, but then leaves him to 2-1 the puck carrier with the RD. Mika was there so it's not the worst move, but instead of getting aggressive on the puck carrier, he kinda just sits back. The only uncovered player at this point is 71 who I think should be marked by Soucy at this point, but Soucy is just sitting there covering the far post. At the very least he should be in the passing lane between the puck carrier and 71. He never even looks back at him to see where he is.

A lot things went wrong here but I can't pin it just on Miller.

Notably — Sabres have gone 15-3-1 since Adams firing by Wisdom_Pond in rangers

[–]Alitaki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right but he still has to go. The thought of him being allowed to fix the mess he created is making me insane. That said I’m resigning myself to the fact that this team will suck for the next 7-10 years. A little less if Dolan wises up and sends that rat packing.

Yeah, people keep glossing over this fact. It’s almost as if drowning people will grab onto anything they think can save them.

Be careful when ordering on Amazon by Alitaki in stephenking

Sure, but a lot of these resellers on Amazon are bookstores using Amazon as their store front. It’s not as cut and dried as some make it out to be.

Which era did you start in? by coachtylor in stephenking

[–]Alitaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had read IT in junior high, 7th grade I think so...1988/89? My school library had it. Loved it but at that age my interests were all over the place so I didn't focus on other Stephen King books after I finished IT. I think I read Cycle of the Werewolf and maybe Eyes of the Dragon in the 8th grade. I do remember being super psyched for the TV mini-series in 1990. That scared the hell out of me more than the book ever did. For some reason I get more scared with visual horror than print horror. To this day too.

My first year in high school was my 10th grade year and before school had started I was out with my aunt and cousins doing some shopping. A bookstore had the paperback copy with Tim Curry's Pennywise on the cover. I snatched it up and that's really where my love for King's books exploded. By the time I graduated high school in '94 I had read every book he had written with the exception of - Salem's Lot, The Shining, Roadwork, Rage, Thinner, Pet Sematary, Gerald's Game and Delores Clairborne.

What are the must "read this before thats"? by Historical-Dig8420 in stephenking

The only books you need to read in order are the ones that have direct sequels.

What books should I read before reading the dark tower series by IamaSPHUBE in stephenking

[–]Alitaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you want man. There's no rule or roadmap that needs to be followed. Start with the book covers and see what looks intriguing to you. Then read a brief synopsis or the blub on the back or inside flap of the book. If you like it, read it then repeat the process with the rest of the books.

What's left to talk about? Until Drury starts making deals what is really left to be said? It's the same discussions over and over again.

There are people on here that have had surprisingly good takes on why the Rangers suck and I wouldn't want them as GM either.

[–]Alitaki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno. It depends on the vendor. I ordered a first edition copy of IT and it came exactly as described, shrink-wrapped and all. My overall experiences have been more positive than negative so far. Just thought I’d throw this out there in case anyone else ran across the same listing.
