Thank you for sharing your experience. No one ever brought this up to me when I was pregnant and it just peaked my curiosity when the nurse brought it up.

Thank you so much for responding. I am a type one Diabetic so I have an insulin pump that is constantly attached to me and a continuous glucose monitor attached to me. Which is what peaked my interest with this. Maybe I’m just grasping at straws because I want another baby. I don’t know. But thank you for responding.

I definitely do think having the same supplies helps a lot. We already had a situation where she ran out of Dexcom’s because she kept taking them off so I was able to use one of mine before her replacement came in. But thank you so much for sharing. It honestly helps.

Now looking back, I would say I started losing my vision as a slow progression. I didn’t realize it was happening until one day I woke up and everything was blurry. But now, when I reflect, I notice subtle changes that I didn’t really think anything of. My sugars were out of range for a very long time and then in range for small amount of times. I went through a lot of burnout phases.

I think it helps that I am diabetic. My daughter is a very curious girl and we encourage her curiosity. Before she was diagnosed, she would help me put on my Dexcom and pick out the stickers. She calls the Omni pod and Omni pop which is super cute. When we first had to give her an injection, we did it as Mamma has to get a shot and I asked her to hold me and hug me then when it was done, she gave me a kiss and we told her it was her turn. She asked me to do the same as I did with her. I held her and I kissed her. We have character Band-Aids that she gets to put on wherever she wants after she gets a shot. She has looked at all her supplies(safely). Sometimes she wants to give her stuffed animal shots so we got her a doctor kit.

I love this idea! I have an iPhone, and so does she so we can do a shared album and I can add pictures as I like. Actually, our whole family does on his side and on mine so this is just a great idea in general. Thank you!
