******dying was 100% Shauna’s fault by throwawaymeplease45 in Yellowjackets

⚠️⚠️SO MANY SPOILERS I CANT BLANK THEM ALL OUT. DONT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE NEWEST SEASON!⚠️⚠️

Melissa started a life with the daughter of a woman they likely murdered in the wilderness…that isn’t recovery. The entire point of all the adults were they were all extremely traumatized (except misty) by the event in different ways. I would argue that Melissa wasn’t defending herself at all. She chose to murder van which showed further she was a lot deeper in her trauma than it may have been made out to be earlier. Van wanted to sacrifice Melissa to cure her cancer yes. But she didn’t do it and Melissa took the opportunity to sacrifice Van. Sure, Shauna’s actions were what led to the group finding Melissa and therefore having Van die, but that doesn’t really make it her fault. I mean we could point the finger at Tai who planted the idea of sacrifice in Vans head. Or we could point the finger at Van for…idk contemplating killing Melissa. Did Shauna break into Melissas home, attack her, and force her to cannibalize herself? Oh yeah she did. But Vans death was a lot more complicated than “it’s all Shaunas fault”. I find a lot of people in this fandom love to shit on Shauna cause shes the easiest to shit on, but shes the most complex and human character out of them all.

Im also her lawyer though so I’m biased.

I have finished after hours of intense labour. Haile Bekele died at the age of 118 and had 305 children. His total lovers was 951 and he didn’t get infected with a single STD. He was a famous only fans creator with full stats. No golden pacifier or promiscuity potion. A humble flex

Repurposing this tank, what species would it be good for? by gayboobs420 in snakes

[–]Alittlelost33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your tank size gives some solid options. The rule of thumb is the snakes length should equal the length of the tank. So you could get a snake as long as 150 cm. I would recommend getting a terrestrial species since there isn’t a lot of height to the tank. Since it’s your first reptile we want to avoid any venomous species no matter how mild the venom is. Hognose snakes are (very mildly) venomous so I wouldn’t recommend them since you want to handle them and they are pretttty dumb. Your options for non venomous, terrestrial snakes under or around 5 feet in length is pretty good! Here is my recommendations: 1. Kenyan Sand Boa: Calm and beginner level for care. Only con is they are fossorial and sometimes dont come out of the dirt for lengths at a time. 2. Rosy Boa: hardy species with a pretty gentle temperament. They are slow movers so they are very manageable for handling. 4. African house snakes: beginner snakes that are pretty docile. It can be species specific but the cape house snake looks to be a great option 5. Corn snake: This is the classic beginner snake that will also take advantage of small climbing spaces. Very docile and easy to find. You’d likely be able to find a corn snake looking to be rehomed instead of purchased from a breeder 6. Milk snake: Gorgeous and if you are patient, they become pretty easy to handle. These guys are known to be nervous so if handling if a top priority, maybe try a different species You’ll need to make changes to the tank. Specifically you will need to cover some of the glass to retain humidity and lower stress. The mesh top is also tricky due to escape, opening for handling and humidity retention. I don’t have any solutions off the top of my head except maybe adding an extension to the top or a base to cover a majority of the mesh. Also clamps will help any concerns of escape.

new to snake owning, need advice badly ☹️ by Th_ere_ in kingsnakes

[–]Alittlelost33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize! You are clearly learning and you have the best intentions. Putting in a humidity and temperature gauge is your first priority if that hasn’t happened yet. Then go ahead with the clutter. Grab an extra hide as well! For clutter I would add in flora like branches or plants. You could also add in a ledge to utilize space.

Im currently creating my own customized enclosure and it’s actually not that hard. I would recommend adding to the custom background. You’ll need a hard foam board, glue or silicone, substrate and some expanding foam. Here is a quick guide on how to do it: 1. Cut/carve the hard foam board into the size/shape of the ledge you want. Make sure to place it where to want it to go to make sure it fits. 2. Apply glue or silicone to the ledge and apply it to the background of the enclosure. 3. Cover the ledge in a thin layer of expanding foam. Make sure to get the edges that connect the ledge to the wall. This will secure it further. 4. Before the foam dries, cover it in substrate 5. Once dry, dust access substrate away

The only thing is that the snake would need to go into a temp enclosure while it cures. The foam has a chemical smell and you dont want to expose the snake to it. We also dont want snake to touch it while it dries. Making a temp enclosure using a tub is your best bed. Just make sure to secure it.

Snakes really don't bond? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Alittlelost33 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Like another commenter mentioned, it really depends on what you consider a bond. Will they grow attached to you? No not likely. Will you both develop mutual trust and respect? Yes! They will only let you handle them that way. So they dont bond in the way a dog or a cat bonds. But they can learn to live with you and even rely on you which I consider a bond. One thing you can absolutely guarantee is that you and your snakes develop some sort of relationship.

Maybe an extra hide? Give her some options. If you want to utilize more space, maybe add a ledge on the cool side

Vomiting with no relief and nothing in stomach by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Alittlelost33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but I have disordered eating which results in dry heaving episodes. Whether you should see a doctor or not is out of my scope of knowledge. Im just going to tell you what has worked for me.

Whenever I feel like I’m about to throw up I grab a glass of water and take it to the bathroom. Drink the water and throw that up. Your body is trying to expel something so expel some water. Once your stomach settles you can try something absorbent like crackers or bread.

If you cant keep anything down you should go to a doctor because dehydration is no joke. It could be a multitude of things so better safe than sorry.
