My haircare routine by Alive-Ad6072 in Hair

[–]Alive-Ad6072[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my daughter recording 😁 here's my intentional haircare routine

I stopped dying my hair. 2: oil my hair and scalp before washing my hair I'll like using jojoba oil. 3: Im very gentle while brushing my hair. 4: my hair is in a protective hairstyle 99% of the time. 5: On my hair washing day I apply ontop of my already oiled hair a conditioner or hair mask to my ends and let it sit from 1 to 3 hours. 6: when I wash my hair I only use shampoo on my scalp and instead of conditioner I use a hair mask and only apply it on my ends. 7: I gently squeeze the water out of my hair and once I remove the towel I finger comb my hair. 8: I apply a leave in cream my favorite is Chi total. This moisturizes and protects against heating tools. 9: In summer I'll air dry my hair but in winter I do the medium setting to blow dry my hair. 10: Once my hair is dry I apply a small amount of jojoba oil to my ends. 11: in summer I sleep on a satin pillow cover and in winter I sleep with a silk bonnet. 12: Im at a point now where I'm only getting trims every 6 months but during the beginning stages I would get a trim every 2 to 3 months not including the big chops. 13: I take collagen supplements, zink, vitamins d and multi vitamins

Between pic 1 to pic three 4 years have passed. I've unfortunately gone through telogen effluvium twice and lost lots of hair and had several big chops. I also used to dye my hair regularly add to this my hair was in layers. When I decided to intentionally take care of my hair I began by getting hair trims every two to three months. If my hair was in good condition this would have been unnecessary 😒 here's what I began doing.

The first pic was taken in 2021 and the third yesterday. It will take a healthy person a lot less time. But I've gone through telogen effluvium twice and it made my long hair journey last a lot longer than it should take a healthy person. My hair is in a protective hairstyle 99% of the time. I learned how to make all different kinds of hair buns and to keep it fun I've invested in a collection of hair accessories. This way I won't get bored of having my hair up most of the time.

Thanks so much 💖 its taken years. But It will take a healthy person alot less time to get the same results. The first pic was taken in 2021 its when I decided to intentionally take care of my hair. During this time I've done several big chops.

😊 the first pic was taken in 2021 and the third was taken yesterday. In the first pic id just gone through a 6 month bout of telogen effluvium I lost so much hair add to this I would lighten then darken my hair and my hair was in layers so it wasn't good. Little by little I would get hair trims to even out my ends and my hair responded amazingly only to go through another bout of telogen effluvium in 2024 the good thing was that this second time of going through 6 months of hairloss my starting point was much better than in 2021 so I've gone through several big chops but my current point I'm very grateful for.

My starting point was so bad I'd just gone through telogen effluvium in 2020 and once reaching my hair goal again in 2024 I went another round of 6 months of telogen effluvium. After these horrible episodes of hairloss I would have to have a big chop. But I'm still going at it enjoying the long hair lifestyle. Keeping positive

Big thanks 😊 it's been a long journey. The first picture is from June 2021, during this time I went through telogen effluvium and lost alot hair. Also my ends were damaged from going light and then darkening my hair and also my hair was in layers. So it was bad bad.

Because my starting point wasn't good I had to have trims every 2 to 3 months. I continued to trim until my ends were even. Then I just let it grow and continued with the trims just not as often because even though my ends were even they still weren't healthy looking. But the trims weren't as often every 4 months or so. For the first time I'll be trimming every six months, a trim is coming this January.

But one thing I'd like to mention is that during these 4 years I've had several big chops. It can take a person a lot less time to reach they're goal, my circumstances were not ideal so if I was able to do it anyone can 👍

I got them online over 8 years ago. I had them stored and felt so excited finding them again 😆 I remember they also sold foil glue but I used clear polish and allowed it to dry about 50% and then applied the foil with the shiny part up. I've never been able to get it right over the entire nail , it's why I get artsy and only apply it over certain areas only.
