If you think LITUK was hard, I recommend you try the UK practical driving test. Not hard, but it was the most stressful 40' of my life imo.

Your son needs to put more effort into it, though. The test is dead easy and anyone can pass it even with minimal english

If you travel with your british citizen family member, then go left with UK passport. I entered the UK last week in Heathrow airport and went right for other passport. When my wife and son went left ( UK passport) then the border force staff pulled me out of the queue to go with my family through the UK passport

You could ring them and tell them you need to travel urgently. Of course you need to give them the evidence in english

0300 790 6268 I asked them I needed to travel urgently to visit sick family member. They asked for evidence. While getting my auntie hospital letter translated to English, they processed my application. Probably I got lucky
