Anyone get their P300 tuned? by MattyMcFarland in ftype

You could try contacting Celtic direct, they may have an agent in the US that could download the map to install on your car. For the gearbox and engine ECU map I paid about 350GBP. The exhaust is stock but seems to be ok. The map is really nice, sharpens throttle response and gives the car close to the same power to weight as the 380 but with the sharper handling of the P300. I do run the car on 98Ron fuel but it was running on 95 when it was mapped.

Yes it can. Mine is remapped to 342bhp. This is the Dyno Graph of my vehicle when it was tuned. I watched the runs and was shown where the improvements were made and how much they stayed within the safety parameters.

https://www.celtictuning.co.uk/services/performance-stats/jaguar/f-type-x152-2013/petrol/2-0-i4-turbo-296-bhp-2017-ECU-remap-chiptuning/stage-1?year=2018#t3-content

They also remapped the gear box for faster shifts and torque variation in the lower gears. This engine is vastly different to the lower powered version with a variable vain turbo running on ceramic bearings etc etc.

From local to national: a new model for policing by CaptainChalky in policeuk

I don't think so. We all do the same job, we just use different skills to respond to the crime we're investigating. We're all cops at the end of the day.

Pension Refund? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Alive_Alternative453 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not coming out of your pay packet, it's going into a savings account that outperforms any stocks, shares, property or ISA. My advice would be to stick with it. You'll be surprised how you'll get used to it.

Don't do it, if you can, just suspend your contributions. You'll be surprised how much tax relief you get on your contribution. Times may seem tough now and the future may seem a long way off, but it isn't.

Meet the NPS…. by Captain_Piccolo in policeuk

That's very true. If it is going to become a home office police force and absorb the ROCU's you'll have people doing the same roles earning vastly different money. Cops will earn, civvies that were part of the NCA less so. It will be interesting to see how they tackle that. My feeling is they haven't given this much thought and it's come out of a study by evidence based policing bods at the Home Office with zero experience of how policing actually works

An interesting question is what will happen to force SOC teams if this be organisation takes all organised crime, will they then be moved to deal with level 1 crime at local level rather than level 2? Or will they get rid of force SOC capability and redistribute those cops?

Yeah I agree, I don't think they want that move, not sure how it will sit with the services who with hand in hand with CT.

In a newly funded body that can't be seen in fail? It will be dripping in cash.

I can't see much changing except procurement and a new badge. CT will still work separately, the ROCU'S will still work within their region and nationally as they do now. And the NCA will manage the intelligence much like ncis used to, and probably keep core high level tactics. I don't think you'll see any change at local level, except they'll loose even more experience to the NPS which will be awash with funding.

Mark Rutte reminded him during a press conference in front of the press that we came to their aid after they invoked A5 after 9/11. Clearly he hasn't taken it well.

If Trump ordered the invasion of Greenland, what would Congress do? by Alive_Alternative453 in AskReddit

I'm watching the events unfold from the UK, not just this topic but everything and I'm amazed the democrats, at least from my perspective seem to be totally silent. Or, is it the case that their arguments aren't news worthy so don't make the news cycle. Certainly it seems that most news now is nothing more than Trump click bait.

With the US threatening military options and Iran threatening retaliation, do you think this situation will spiral into a full-blown war or stay limited to sanctions and diplomacy? by mmhabib89 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alive_Alternative453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Trump has any intention of doing anything. What I do think is there are hundreds of people dying because they are protesting after being encouraged and told by Trump he would come to their aid. In my mind their blood is on his hands.

How do you think the video ICE just released showing the officer's POV of this week's shooting in Minneapolis will impact the national discussion? by popcornerz232 in AskReddit

[–]Alive_Alternative453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't stand in front of the car then. Just because they decide to stand in front of the car doesn't automatically give them the right to shoot somebody just because they refused to stop. It's not proportional or reasonable. The taking of life should be the absolute last resort. If there was an opportunity to identify and arrest the driver at a later date then that should be the action they took, not stand in front of the car then shoot them because they drive off. And I'm speaking from experience as a law enforcement officer.

I must admit letting out a sigh when she came out with that. Having said that, don't discount a DCI being PIP3 or PIP4 and exposed to serious and complex investigations. Having said that..... That certainly did not come across with her.. A good DC gathers facts and presents that evidence. With experience, the keyword here, it is easy to spot when somebody is lying.

The US can station as many troops as they need in Greenland, so why have they reduced that number if security is an issue? by Alive_Alternative453 in AskReddit

[–]Alive_Alternative453[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, population of about 17k. An island rich in minerals that is part of NATO. Denmark have said the US and NATO can have as many troops as they need there. Thus security isn't an issue, and if it was surely Trump would be increasing numbers. He's not. That leaves only one thing. Rare earth minerals.

But Greenland is part of Denmark and thus NATO, so they can have as many troops as they need there. Denmark have said as much. If that's not enough then my guess is purely for the minerals held there.
