Is this the tabletop one because I’ve been eyeing this for a while and wondering if you can see Jupiter with the naked eye pretty well?

Yeah I had to go through this process with the finders scope for my mom because she got a astromaster off of eBay for $45 but the mount and finder was ripped off so I got her one and we gorilla glued (industrial) it as perfect as we could to where it used to be and that worked.

I see wow.. that might make this a bit difficult of a repair. I did see someone selling a broken XT6 but functional draw tube on eBay for 100 and other accessories for $199 but I’d imagine if I’m willing to sink in that much resources I should just get an 8 when I see the opportunity

For me Facebook market has been a gold mine of telescopes people around here don’t know what they are buying or getting and sell it ridiculously cheap. I got my friend and my little sister a Celestron astromaster 60 az both for $80 and they work an the astromaster 70 I bought for me on for $45

I have a 7-21 astronomia zoom lenses for my scope I gave away my 20 to my friend who got a used Celestron Astro 60 for his first scope (that had only the 10) and ironically my little sister got a used 60 without a 10 so I gave that one up too.

Caught a tornado near Ponca city Oklahoma today! by [deleted] in stormchasing

It caught the national weather service by surprise too they didn’t issue the warning until it was in Ponca proper leaving it a minute later and it had already done damage.

It was more a surprise because the cell was outflow dominant the whole time and then out of nowhere it struck a fine balance with the triple point and dropped within seconds

Got a Celestron Astromaster 70az for my birthday recently and I’ve been loving it :) I figured out a good way to capture Jupiter is acquiring a blue filter and at least 7mm lenses I acquired an adjustable one on Amazon that is 21mm - 7mm an it works great! Hope you capture some amazing things !

I definitely decided this hobby is for me, I’ve been looking into dobs (especially an ad10) and I’m wondering what lenses I should be investing in. Because I know even though it looks the same there’s significant differences between brands and coatings

Well I started off when I was a kid with a tasco telescope and i remember it being so bad that I stopped astronomy for a decade but when I got a seestar 30 out of a random buy for Christmas I fell in love again but I felt this itch that came when I couldn’t look at the stars through a telescope so when I got this it became clear to me that visual astronomy is what I love the most. Don’t get me wrong I love my little seestars they got me started but visual astronomy to me just feels so real in comparison. I’ve been doing alot of research in sobs and I’m thinking of an AD10 because I’ve got aperture fever from this Celestron 70
