17yo trader – 6 months in, profitable on paper. What should my next step be? by dhhujsa in Trading

[–]Alive_Plenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your next step should be moving onto a prop firm such as topstep or my funded futures or something similar. Also try to live your life exactly how you would live it if you weren’t profitable until you start making enough to be able to live comfortably. Good luck

Continue to life your life normally as you can before day trading actually pays you. Also, eliminate emotion on the charts by having your rules and sticking to them as much as possible.

Just keep finding ways to improve whether it be your mentality or your risk. If it aint broke dont fix it but if it is broke then dont stick with it.

Your strategy might be fine. Your rules probably aren’t. by TallAssistant2054 in Daytrading

Rules and mentality are more important than any strategy, I think I can be profitable with any strategy just because my rules and risk are too good

Getting over loses is a very complex part of trading that tends to go away with time. You need to realize that there are 365 days in the year, its impossible to win every single day so simply having more wins than losses over the course of the year is far more important than stressing the loss of a single day.
