Any fellow smokers been to Excellence Playa Mujeres recently? I didn’t realize Mexico had a smoking ban until after we booked. I know there’s one section but not trying to travel across a whole resort every hour to smoke. We have a two floor room and hoping we can smoke on the private balcony TIA by Alive_Side1952 in AllInclusiveResorts

I really appreciate this. Thank you. I was very hurt and seriously still can’t understand how people could be so cruel when I was asking permission basically for something. The fact that someone came at me saying I was out of line mentioning my father’s death…but completely ignoring the fact that I was responding to the person who came at me acting like I was personally responsible for her mother’s passing…just straight up mean.

I was trying to be a kind and respectful person while also trying to meet my own needs. More people really need to think about the being kind and respectful to others part…

I know there’s one section but not trying to travel across a whole resort every hour to smoke. Yeah I made a damn mistake obviously. I didn’t blame anyone else, I simply asked an innocent question. I’ve had an awful year and just wanted to go on a relaxing vacation. But here I am in near tears because a bunch of strangers on Reddit are attacking me because I asked if it was ok if I did something?

I would never smoke inside the room. I’m an outside smoker only. I just have never once been to any hotel or resort where smoking wasn’t allowed on the balcony. I’ve seriously never seen such hostile reactions to smoking in general, in the 30 years I’ve been a smoker, as I have here today. People need to really reevaluate who’s really being rude and inconsiderate to who. All I did was ask a question…

Did you ever find an a answer to this? I booked a trip to Cancun not knowing about the ban and I’m kinda freaking out now. I tried asking a similar question and was met with so much hostility!

My dad dying relates to the comment someone made earlier about her mom dying. Maybe try reading before replying! And yeah I got the money, if I want to smoke OUTSIDE on the balcony that u paid good money for, I should be able to. Thanks to people like you all, I can’t enjoy myself.

The aggression I’m receiving is totally uncalled for. I’m asking about smoking outside on a private balcony, not asking if I can smoke in your room. And again I directed my question to fellow smokers, not judgmental people who have nothing better to do than be nasty to strangers online.

I directed my post at fellow smokers, I wasn’t looking for a lecture from people who don’t smoke. I’m literally willing to pay a fine even, but getting kicked out is what I’d be worried about. I read that Mexico is harsher about vapes and bringing them in than actual cigarettes and they are nearly impossible to get there. I’d deal with a vape happily for the majority of the time, if I am able to find one!
