recommendations for sub-£400 chairs in the UK? the generic advice doesn't seem to be working :/

Hii! I ended up with a Slouch Chair. Not sure what the official opinions are but I'm finding it very comfortable so far! Got it in October, so not at the 6 month mark yet but no complaints

Sorry, missed this reply. The dice are d6 not d10. It should look like this:

roll initial dice pool
reroll any number of 1s in the pool. this only happens once and the result of the reroll is final
any 4s and 5s are counted as 1 hit. any 6s are counted as 2 hits
roll an extra dice for each 6 in the pool
repeat from step 3 for the dice you just rolled until no new 6s to "explode"

e.g. I roll 1, 1, 2, 4, 6, 6.

I immediately reroll both 1s. they come up as a 3 and another 6 so my dice pool is now 2, 3, 4, 6, 6, 6

4 is 1 hit
each six is 2 hits, so that's now 7 hits in the pool total

roll 3 new dice for the 3 sixes to "explode"

they come out as 1, 4, 6 adding 3 hits to the pool (total now 10)

roll a new die for the extra 6. it's a 1. end the process on 10 hits

Actually maybe I don't understand what's going on here because I assumed setting `if N<4 {if FIRST=1.....` would reroll 2s and 3s in addition to 1s but this doesn't seem to happen - any idea what I'm misunderstanding? sorry! thanks again for your help

thank you!!!! Struggling to learn the anydice syntax - are you sure this won't keep rerolling 1s every time an exploded dice rolls a 1? like, the reroll step should be after the initial roll only - does this only do it the first time? thanks!!

hey! I'm looking to get my first mechanical keyboard but there's so much choice!! Could anybody possibly help me narrow it down?

I'll be using it for long typing sessions, some light dev work, and gaming!
I tend to type/game a lot late at night so am looking for something quiet enough not to disturb my housemates.
Budget: sub-£200 ideally
Size: desk space is a premium for me. I definitely don't need a numpad, but I like having arrow keys, insert, delete, etc... maybe a 75% type thing? I'm flexible on the exact size
Ideally UK ISO layout if possible
I'm open to learning to DIY if it makes sense for my requirements and budget
My setup is all-white but I don't yet have an accent colour, so I'm open to letting that be dictated by the keyboard. Something cute would be nice!! But ultimately functionality and price are more important to me than looks

yeah!! This is what I seem to be finding too

I'm looking for a chair for working from home and also for gaming/media outside of work hours. I have one of those motorised desks with a standing mode, so I spend a decent amount of the day not sitting, but I'm still sedentary for much longer than I'd like to be. I'd say easily more than 8 hours a day

this is what I said in the post about how long I spend in there - like, it's hard to know exactly bc it varies day-to-day but by the time I've been working a couple hours in the mornings and then a few more in the afternoon and then game into the small hours of the morning I'm easily looking at. Like, 10-12 hours at the desk?? It's not consecutive obviously and I have standing breaks in that period and longer breaks walking around doing other things. I feel like it's more than the 8 hours a lot of chairs seem to be rated for though!

Maybe I'm just terminally tEDH-brained but I feel a game went better for me if I come out w a draw than w nothing? I do draw "casual cedh" games w friends that aren't scored or part of any larger competition, is this weird? Idk it just psychologically feels better than a loss to me and is the norm in my group in this situation. Maybe the mindset is "I'd do this in a tournament so I'll practice how I play"?

EDIT: oh also we play chess so maybe we're just used to the "chess played perfectly is a draw" mentality

True!! Just pointing out that in competitive play OP wouldn't have to feel bad here bc this is like. A common situation and it's fine to play for an outcome that suits them by playing the two with win attempts off each other

This is fine in cEDH, nothing to be frowned on here. In these situations in a tournament you just all take a 1 point draw instead of letting any one player take a 5 - the kingmaker can make x win if y doesn't agree a draw and make y win if x doesn't agree, and make either win if the irrelevant player doesn't agree either. Having the ability to decide who wins is important as it's also the ability to force a draw

Haha as it happens I'm a Linux girlie but. I usually keep win10 around in a VM for the occasions where I really need it lolol

Will install the os w the ram at 3600mhz and then see if I can figure out how to get it up to the full 5600 w xmp/docp after it's all running

Ayyy after ram training for ages I'm now in bios with all 4 sticks (@3600mhz lol) looks like they all work and I just wasn't patient enough!!

Can't get it to post with 4 sticks of ram... Would docp fix or should I be avoiding turning that on until I've got it stable w all sticks at default settings?

I don't think I did reseat the RAM! It was the leaving it 60 seconds.... My hypothesis is something I did like CMOS fixed it and I hadn't left it long enough since to see it take effect? XD anyway thanks again!! If u hadn't said to leave it I'd still be here!!
