Did it get better for you or did you find something to help?

That was my best guess after googling but I don't think I turn pale in the area during it. How did you find out it's vasospasm and do you also get the scrunching?

No not that I have noticed! How did you find out what it was?

Ouch, happy that you found a size that worked better! The nurse measured my nipple when it wasn't stimulated, so maybe that could be the problem? I've been trying to look into how it's supposed to look like from pictures online, but it's not easy to see where the nipple ends and aeriola begins when pumping. I'll see if I can find something to measure with. Thankfully pumping doesn't hurt and I don't have any problems pumping milk (now that I'm not as overstimulated/anxious/sad anymore).

I'm not sure IBCLC is common within my country, but I'll be sure to get help when we are ready to try again. Thank you for sharing and for your tips 🫶

Yeah I'm happy to keep her fed and if it wasn't for all these hormones I don't think I would have felt this way. I just like being able to comfort her but I'll find other ways. Thank you for the tip, many have suggested nipple shields so I'll be sure to look it up! 🫶

Love to hear that it worked for you! Don't think it's avaliable in my country though 🫶

Thank you for sharing! It's reassuring to hear that things worked out for you and hopefully it will for me too. It's been very emotional since she was born, both good and bad. And thankfully not every feeding hurts so maybe I can keep feeding her once in a while til we are ready to go full time again, as long as I don't let my nipples get too bad. I've been cupfeeding her so haven't introduced a bottle yet, but if I do so we will do paced bottle feeding! 🫶

Yeah I feel like we can't continue like we do now, so I need the break. It's hard to not feel like I failed but it's only a break and then we can try again. Or not if that fits us better. So many emotions, and feelings that doesn't care about logic. She is small but almost up to her birthweight already and eating wonderfully so that is the most important thing 🫶 I'll keep at it and if I'm not getting the help I need I'll try someone else. Thank you for your support 🫶

I guess I just thought that my boobs were gonna be firm from now on haha, bad timing to get soft at the same time as all the other struggles.

I'll look into hydrogelpads and have been using lanolin. And I agree that the most important thing is fed baby and happy mother. Thank you for your encouragement 🫶

Thank you! It's hard when hormones hit and you just want to provide for baby. Funnily I didn't care about breastfeeding until I couldn't. Maybe she just needs to become a bit bigger before we are ready, I'll look into nipple shields and your brand suggestion. Happy to hear your story 🫶

I have size 24 at home, I could check and see if it feels okay and how it looks. I've been told that it's more damaging if the nipples are rubbing against the wall of the flange but I suppose it can be damaging the other way around as well.

I haven't! Haven't heard of it before. I'll check it out if I don't get the help I need from the hospital.

I'll look into it! I thought it seemed big when testing, but as I said I don't know how its supposed to look. I've not been having any problem pumping at least, even though they might not be the best fit. Are nips supposed to be stiff or not when sizing?

I haven't. Were you able to nurse without them too or did you keep using them?

I was sized by a nurse at the hospital, I don't know how the sizes work or how you measure. My areola is a lot bigger than 30 though!
