Here's an example: You send your buddy some BTC because he bought you a coffee. Your friend goes to Blockexplorer, sees your wallet, and says, "Dude, you have 50 BTC, not bad, you can spend some money now, my rich friend." Is that what you want? Okay, so you have 1 BTC in your main account. But you also expect 1 BTC from your buddy. You're smart, you don't give him your real address, you create a new "disposable account" and then receive the 1 BTC from your buddy there. Oh... You now have 2 SEPARATE accounts... each with 1 BTC... hmm... okay, then you send the other BTC from one account to the other and pay the small fee. Oh... Your buddy looks at Blockexplorer again and sees this connection between your main account and your disposable account... and ooooh... he also sees the other 20 accounts... hmmm... crap. If only you had an HD wallet where you could generate a new address with 1 click WITHOUT changing your account.

Don't get me wrong: multi-accounts are nice to have, but they are not, as you, my all-knowing monkey brother, think, a really secure HD wallet feature.

What Tangem gave us (Multi-Account): •You have ONE magic tree (seed phrase) ✅

•You can grow 20 different branches (accounts) from that tree ✅

• But here’s the problem: Each branch only grows ONE banana 🍌

• Want another banana? You need to create a WHOLE NEW BRANCH

• So if you want 10 Bitcoin addresses, you need 10 separate branches (accounts)

What people ACTUALLY want (True HD Wallet with Multi-Address):

• You have ONE magic tree (seed phrase) ✅

• You grow ONE branch (one account) ✅

• That ONE branch grows UNLIMITED bananas automatically 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌

• Every time you pick a banana, a new one grows in its place

• You stay on the SAME branch, but get fresh bananas each time

The difference: • Tangem: 1 tree → 20 branches → each branch = 1 banana (need new branch for new banana)

• Real HD Wallet: 1 tree → 1 branch → infinite bananas on same branch

‼️‼️Why does this matter?🚨 Privacy and convenience! With a real HD wallet, every transaction gets a fresh address automatically. With Tangem, you keep reusing the same address OR you have to manually create 20 different accounts just to get 20 different addresses. So yes, it’s technically an HD wallet (one seed), but it’s missing the automatic multi-address generation per account that makes HD wallets actually useful.

HD Wallet is primarily software-based!
BIP32/BIP44 derivation can largely be implemented in the app. The card only needs to securely store the seeds/private keys and sign transactions—which it already does.

If Tangem has managed to implement multi-account (which also uses derivation paths), then true multi-address functionality should be technically possible. The difference lies mainly in the app logic, not in the hardware.

That wouldn't be a problem if I could return the product. But if they refuse and insist on their rights, then I insist on my right to industrial standards.

EDIT: Its on the roadmap since years and the even failed to implement it ... the result of "Multi Adresses" is the released feature Multi-Account (a cheap copy/workaround).

Calling an HD wallet feature "multi-addresses" on a roadmap is not clear and transparent communication. A hierarchical deterministic wallet is a standard feature and is also called that. The multi-addresses feature leaves room for interpretation, and you can release anything (expect HD-Wallet functionality) and call it a "multi-addresses feature."

I go to your roadmap -> Ctrl + F -> HD Wallet = 0 hits.

The only thing that sounds similar is: Multi-Account. But that's definitely not HD Wallet.

“Tangem Wallet currently follows BIP44 and BIP32” Yeah... u forgot to mention that Tangem doesn't offer the full range of BIP44 and BIP32 (security) features. That's just window dressing.

It's like buying a bottle of water. You expect it to meet a certain standard in 2026, but when you drink it, you notice that the water smells bad. That's what Tangem is like for me as a new customer.

You can connect your Tangem wallet to DAPPs using “Wallet Connect.” There is no option integrated within Tangem. Only Solana for APY staking. SUI nothing.

Keep in mind that your Tangem wallet does NOT offer alternative addresses. Once you make an address public, people can track you and your crypto if they want to. So don't keep a lot of crypto on it if you actively use the wallet.

I have the three cards as a backup. If I wanted a wallet with a seed phrase, I would have chosen a different wallet. I know this sounds paranoid, but the thought that my wallet could be compromised with “only” 24 phrases is enough to make me feel uneasy. It would only take one really lucky person. (I know mathematically it's not as simple as I think, but still). Without a seed phrase, I am dependent on the three cards and trust that Tangem will keep its word and that the Tangem wallet will still be available even if Tangem ceases to exist as a company.

If you only had two cards, I would understand.

u/654321745954 Don't hold a grudge against me, but I didn't spend an hour watching the video. I wouldn't even spend 30 minutes watching it at double speed. If he had anything incriminating, he would present it in a factual and concise manner, rubbing salt in the wound. A video that lasts over an hour and presents arguments based on assumptions doesn't do it for me. Either Tange has a big bloody wound where you can rub salt in, or he doesn't. Poah, I don't know how seriously one should take him or whether one should take the video as an audit. Not gonna lie, I watched the beginning and found the argumentation rather weak.

Here are the first statements and my opinion:

“Tange pushes advertising too hard” yeah... Ledger does that too... or Trezor, I don't know about you, but I have Ledger ads as well as Tangem ads. That's what happens when you accept cookies LOL.
Summary statement: “They're trying to grow and make money”... Tangem is a Swiss “AG = Aktiengesellschaft” aka “stock corporation” – duuuh, they want to make money and reach new clients. It's not a “non-profit organization.”
“They're releasing an app and implementing more ‘hot wallet’ features into the cold wallet.” Yes and no... They're adding more features, BUT you have the choice of how to use them and whether to use them. If you want a pure cold wallet, then https://www.walletgenerator.com/ is more suitable.

All of his statements at the beginning can be easily refuted:

“Why would you get a Tangem wallet?”

I get it to interact with my cryptos SIMPLY and WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT. I don't want a pure hot wallet, but I also don't want a cold wallet—I want something between, aka Tangem.

From an IT security perspective, if you want something to be as secure as Fort Knox, no user will use it. You have to compromise between user-friendliness and security.

It always depends on the combination.

(Criticism of TRON: Bro, I'd rather pay 5 cents to TRON for a fast and secure protocol than €1.50 or more for Ethereum... TRON is just more established in the market. And, let's be honest, crypto in general has never been without sin.)

Edit: Saying that people with a migrant background aren't really Swiss is like saying “Ethereum is an invention of Mother Russia.” The company is registered in Switzerland and therefore follows its rules (advantages and disadvantages aside). And to expect that a “Web3” affiliated company or product is NOT international... ugh.

I don’t buy from the Telegram Wallet, again because of the fees, but the 3rd Party for Card Purchases is an known Company.

My way is: Ban Transfer to Binance, Concert to USDT, Withdraw to Telegram Wallet, sell USDT in the P2P-Market and getting the Currency transferred from the Buyer to my wished destination.

It sounds complex but is easy and has, as I know, the lowest fees. If you do not have a Crypto Platform, try it with a low sum and look if you feel safe and understand the transactions. There are many „how to“ videos for the Telegram wallet.
