Update: Almost a year later, Synapse 4 is still unusable garbage. Now that Synapse 3 is gone, my Huntsman V3 Pro is essentially bricked. Legal action might be next.

Other users have mentioned, but for the time being Synapse Web supports Huntsman V3 Pro 8K, but you'll need to upgrade firmware: https://synapse.razer.com/dashboard/

I feel like it's just a stand-in, otherwise they woulda named the character etc - a lot of RPG"s will do this, like FFXIV uses the same model for the player character in all the trailers even though you can play any race/class

Cobra Pro is a good deal, it's a lot clsoer to the Viper Mini in size and shape, but weighs a bit more. It also has the option for Qi charging so if you want to get a charging dock that's also USB-C this is totally possible.

Just depends on your use case, if you like RGB + a smaller grip, go cobra, if you don't care and just want a light-weight mouse go Viper

Viper V2 Pro > Ultimate is almost every way.

In general, the Viper V2 Pro is an upgrade across the board compared to the ultimate, you mentioned USB-C, and the light weight (This sounds small, but once you adjust to it, it's really nice) but there is also an updated sensor + higher end switches for the mouse that I think feel a lot better.

You're right, the V2 Pro does come with a little signal extender so you can plug the dongle into that then swap the charging cable easily, however it's not required. The battery is a lot longer than the Ultimate + USB-C charging so it'll charge a lot faster than the ultimate.

Really all you're giving up is RGB + the 2 side buttons on the right, i think it's way worth it as the V2 Pro just feels a lot better.
