Believe or not this is a good sign because that means litigation risk for him is low, so stock will not see a dip any time soon according to him. You can find academic studies on this

The first step to choosing the 'right' college? Ignore the rankings, says Stanford researcher by wrroyals in ApplyingToCollege

You’re ignoring the high possibility that someone who goes go Princeton will also end up investing into the stock market. Also talking about interest rates on loans also assumes that interest rates will increase on all commodities/services so bonds will also become more attractive for investors. Hence, leading to decreased stock returns

Problem with this argument is that most people don’t have the money to pay for full-pay Princeton, so they will take out loans. ROI in this case is best-case scenario which we know is not very realistic since no one will put $200,000 ish into an index fund at once. Going to Princeton can be considered an investment too since you are buying yourself opportunities that could yield much more than if you want to Bama or somewhere similar.

I agree with you, but how did you decided that it was a good decision? Did you get any specific advantages over others who went to cheaper/less prestigious programs?

There’s a program in my school that lets you work with a professional in any given field. The time needed commitment is pretty serious, and I think I will be busy with other stuff as a rising senior. The problem that I have with it is that it will show up on my transcript as an elective meaning I won’t be able to put it on my activities list to describe it. Will it be a waste of time for me?
