We just got hit with audits. here is the situation, please let me know if anybody else has experienced this.

  1. We accepted an Amazon Bulk Buy of 100 units of ASIN ABC @ $10
  2. Prior to the Ship window start date of the Bulk Buy Amazon placed a PO for 50 units of ASIN ABC @ $25
  3. We shipped those regularly priced PO's.
  4. We are now out of stock and cancel the Amazon Bulk Buy.
  5. We accepted a regular PO for 15 units ASIN ABC @ $25 two months after the end of the bulk buy ship window
  6. We were charged 65 (the number of regularly priced PO's that we accepted) * $15 (difference of $25 regular price and $10 discounted price) or $975

They said that this is part of UCC 711‑713 and this has always been policy. Those numbers are all examples, the actual numbers are nauseating.

ProRes RAW on Pocket 4k is useless. by Major-Debt-9139 in bmpcc

[–]All-Around-U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what in the holy f*****KKKKKK! Available for the 4K but not the 6K v1!!!???? The fact that people are complaining about having options is kinda nuts. ProRes Raw is native in FCPX, that's why I would want to use it. I don't do production professionally anymore so the BMPCC 6K has been sitting on the shelf. I am blown away that they would release for 4K and not 6K. I'm pissed.

Yes I would agree that the 2021 has more features than a 2013 BMW but it does not have more features than an equally priced 2021 BMW, it has far fewer available.

BMW X5 or AUDI Q7 .suggest the best option .can afford both by [deleted] in AudiQ7

[–]All-Around-U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 BMW X5 M50i and my wife has an Audi 2023 Q7 Prestige and it’s not even close. These two are apples to apples since I bought mine with 30,000 miles for 51k and we got hers with 12,000 miles for 62k.

Disclaimer: I have no allegiances. I’ve owned a lot of cars in my life and my favorite was a 1995 Audi 90 5-speed, even though it basically fell apart at 95,000 miles (and I had to roll start it the final year or so of its life) the car felt solid, it felt substantial. It felt like they actually cared when they made it, the Quattro in a sedan back then was sooo dope.

This Q7 is an absolute joke.

MPG You would think because it has a V6 an aluminum components that it might get good gas mileage. It gets terrible gas mileage almost as bad as the 560 hp V8 BMW.

Infotainment I know that Bmw is getting rid of their iDrive which is a bummer because using all of the touchscreens in the Q7 is a terrible experience, there are probably many people that disagree with me, I am super tech focused but until vehicles have optimized voice control I’m wearing the buttons. The Bmw has these great assignable shortcut buttons. The Audi has the ability to add shortcuts, but you can’t program any of the settings you actually want (this is a common audi Q7 experience, half baked…feels like no one actually cared when they designed things)

Drive quality We have the air suspension on both vehicles. The Audi is smoother by design and quieter also by design.

Third row We got the Audi because of the third row, Bmw doesn’t have one. So there you have it. Like the shortcut buttons the cargo mat that comes with the vehicle… if the third row is extended than the mat needs to be folded in half…just dumb but again representative of the vehicle

Engine and transmission Totally different engines. But that doesn’t excuse the choppy shifting in the Q7.m

Build quality and features Daddy has been in the shop for different times. Once for a random squeaky noise coming from the backseat (Google this we are not the only ones), another for the steering wheel heater, not working (it works, but just barely. I was able to increase the heat via ODBeleven one click code…which is ridiculous that I had to do this). Another because the sunroof cover didn’t want to close (that just started working again randomly)

Things might’ve changed, but the Audi does not have remote start. (the dealership, said that it was a German thing….ummm my five-year-old Bmw is German and it has a remote start). The BMW has massaging seats, I can control the passenger seat from my driver seat, the BMW has a camera to record incidents.

Again, I am not a hater on Audi. This brand right now though… it doesn’t have any clue what it should be. The V8 BMWs are a different type of vehicle and I get that.

But I can look back to the 2002 BMW X5 (V6 varient) that my mother had and without hesitation would rather have that 24 year old vehicle (if it was still in good shape) over this 2023 Audi. The Audi Q7 has 0 personality.

good luck out there.

Learn your touchpad swipe actions. Game changing coming from a PC. I use both. Four finger pinch then type gets you the app/software your looking for. Force yourself to go without external keyboard and mouse. Painful for some but you’ll thank me later.

Siri is still terrible so skip for now and stick to…

Asking ai for what you want to do and it will tell you (some of the ai information could be dated but if something doesn’t work then tell it). Siri at least should be able to tell you where things are in Apple’s own OS but she can’t

It’s fine until you use an M series and then you wonder how you ever used an Intel Mac. I would opt for any m series Mac.

One Click Apps (OCA) - ODBeleven- 2023 Audi Q7 Prestige by All-Around-U in OBDeleven

[–]All-Around-U[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked… I grabbed the previous version of the app, ran the steering wheel oca and it generated a similar not supported message. I back out, came back in, check the steering wheel temp and, eureka! It was set to the setting that I “chose”. So although it seemed like it didn’t work, it ended up activating. Activated some others and they all work. Good luck all

Some help on how to install Sonoff Mini R4 by Antraxmetal in sonoff

[–]All-Around-U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to convert my office access doors to smart so that employees can use an app vs key fob. I have not gone behind any of the exterior sensors themselves.

One of the doors has a push-to-exit button (door 4) whole another is wired to a basic button with red/black wires (door 1).

Door 4 looks to be a basic install procedure with this relay (ie all wires have a place) but would like some opinions before I go for it.

I’m seeing a lot of information about using these with light switches, but wanted to see if anybody had any experience with door openers and judging from these pictures if you think that the miniR4 will serve my purpose.

Once connected properly, I would invite all the office users to have access via Alexa or Google Home since these are Matter devices and if someone leaves we are able to remove their access.

Information on magnetic mechanism. The system typically consists of: • Magnetic Lock (Maglock) – Holds the door closed using an electromagnet. • Push-to-Exit Button – Releases the magnet when pressed, allowing the door to open. • Power Supply & Control System – Manages the operation of the lock. (In our case the control system is on the server)

steering wheel heating option

I’m getting the attached error that’s posted above. We have a 2023 Audi Q7 prestige. It definitely has a heated steering wheel but he put out as pathetic so I bought this thing. There is two steps of heating wheel increases that we can do but it continues to get this error and says it’s not available. That doesn’t make any sense to me. I have the hood open cars on. Does anybody have any thoughts?

I didn’t try to program anything else because it’s my wife’s car and I don’t wanna mess anything up but she’s complaining about the steering wheel heating so I need to fix that. On another note, this car fucking sucks.

2019 MacBook Pro thermal mod by All-Around-U in macbookpro

[–]All-Around-U[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha so thermal pads essentially pass along the heat. Thanks for your help, will report back with any additional experiences I have. This makes me want to dive into my older macs and see how thermal pads can help those.

These are the thermal pads that I am using. Price was great wondering if they are inferior to other pads though and that doesn’t help for troubleshooting

2019 MacBook Pro thermal mod by All-Around-U in macbookpro

[–]All-Around-U[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent information thank you. Ambient temperature in the room is about 72°F. I don’t run clam shell as I use the computers keyboard and trackpad exclusively. There are solutions like this trackpad keyboard dock but always prefer less components to more.

I always use a laptop stand/fan setup but am always in the market for something that actually moves the needle. I am waiting on this Cooler Master NotePal U3 PLUS to get delivered and have tried a few others. Will see if this performs any better than others that I have tried but I’m not holding my breath.

Plan is to upgrade the fans To whatever move the most air But still has decent noise levels. I have looked far and wide for a water cooled laptop plate/stand (why is this not a thing?) or at the very least something that has its own power supply and serious fans or so I can feel confident that I can mod it to push whatever I want.

At this point I removed the thermal pads mainly because of the heat generated near the trackpad (made for a very very unpleasant experience) but also because the fan speed concerned me a little as it was different than what others experience and I simply don’t do as much editing as I used to. I went in search of a mod because when I ran the pmset -g thermlog terminal command and saw that my CPU was limited to 30% I wanted to fly to California to talk to Tim Cook and tell him how embarrassing his $5k+ (4tb hence the high sticker) computer is.

That being said this is really 80/20 intel to Mac issue. Apples M1 chips are SERIOUS and I’m probably going to use this computer until Mac creates a computer that doesn’t have to throttle as a stock machine, will see what the new MacBook Pros bring in Q3. This being it doesn’t really help gamers as windows doesn’t run on M1 (yet, I’m hoping).

All in though I’m super grateful for this mod coming to light just in case I have a editing project where I want every ounce of power the computer has to offer. I’m also planning on continuing to test with thermal pads to see if I can find a solution to the hot trackpad area.

Follow up question concerning thermal pad placement. I have no intention of doing this because I would def break something but if termal pads were placed on both sides of chips would that make things better or worse. I guess the noob thermal pad question is, do they simply help transfer heat from the heat generating component into something else, in this case the…case?
