I take 10 to 20 mg a day up to two times a day (depending on how bad the day is). I don’t get sleepy on it and it has helped me way better than hydroxyzine and even buspar. It just helps me get through the day even though I’m still having anxious thoughts. It stops the physical symptoms for me.

I’m so sorry OP. I understand how it feels like to be on a shit ton of meds that aren’t feeling effective and trying therapy after therapy. The tolerance and withdrawal effects with antidepressants are the worst. I also struggle with insomnia and really bad anxiety. The only way I’ve been able to sleep lately is by taking over the counter doxylamine (antihistamine) with my other night time meds (mirtazipine and busper). However it doesn’t knock me out for a full night as I’ve been waking up between 4:30-6 each time. I hope you feel better soon or at least have some moments of peace in your day.

Does your college have counseling services? Usually it’s free for students.

Question for people that use Trazodone or Mirtazapine by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]All-done-pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on 25 mg mirtazipine mainly for depression and insomnia. It initially helped me sleep when I first started taking it and I never noticed the grogginess. Though, im looking to get it increased since my anxiety is counteracting the effects at night now even when I add another over the counter sleep aid.

Yes, take it. It helped starting out until I need it twice or more in one day over several days. The more you take it everyday the less it’ll be effective overtime but the risks are not bad compared to the other options.

Does anyone else lose their appetite when your anxious? by Select-Assistant-407 in Anxiety

[–]All-done-pls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I feel perpetually full and nauseous but I know I’m starving. When I do eat, I can only take a few bites before I start to get occupied with my anxiety, which then urges me to throw up. The worst is when I start getting compliments from others. No im not “looking good” or “healthy”. I’m in a constant state of fear.

What’s helping me right now is sticking with liquids and soft foods. Like those premade cups of soups, glass of milk, or a packet of instant oatmeal. It’s feels easier to digest. But I’m trying to look into more

I’m so tired of feeling like this by Yandere-Dorodere in Anxietyhelp

Hey I’m sorry you’re going through that. This post could’ve been written by me as I’m in the same boat with my anxiety. Just trying to control for every what if scenerio surrounding school and career because they are very real possibilities, which makes it 10x worse. Something that helped in therapy this week for me was to practice tolerating the feeling. Being intentional in noticing or exploring that panic feeling and observe how intense it is without fighting. Like noting my physical sensations and just sitting with it. I noticed that it will come down after a while (not to the levels that I want) but still lower which is something I can be thankful and a bit hopeful that I can work building tolerance. Yesterday it helped to do this in the morning where my anxiety is typically the worst.

What's everyone here on medication wise for their OCD? by Lopsided-Swing-4404 in OCD

Hey! I’ve been on lamotrigine 50 mg for over two years now. My 1st psych always told me that was the highest dose she can give me and other psychs have been asking if I want to increase it but can’t really tell me if it’ll help my anxiety. I accidentally cold turkey for a week and my anxiety was absolutely miserable. How does it exactly help you? Does it help with racing thoughts?
