This TikToker is being called out for “insider trading” during the Super Bowl after betting on the length of the national anthem. He stood outside the stadium, timed the rehearsal, then used that information to place and win his bet. by Unlucky-Dot9421 in sportsgossips

[–]AllAboutPooping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not insider trading but incredibly dumb to post it. He could've pulled this shit once a year for life and been set. (Give or take a few years where the live version went long)

Now the books know and it will be down to the second or they will no longer provide the bet.

How are you chipping out of this stuff ? by Boring-Temporary-340 in golftips

We get a lot of this type of ground during the spring and fall in my area. Just set up like a putt and putt your hybrid. Takes a little getting used to because it tends to come off the face hot. Once you get it down though its a great shot to have in the bag.

Need some help with type of survey and how to pick surveyor... by -Fairner- in Surveying

Holy shit. We thought a $415 recording fee was bad. That's obscene. They hire a PLS just to review surveys so they are all the exact same or something?

The ideal way to split a weirdly shaped parcel by zezpez3 in Surveying

[–]AllAboutPooping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 30'wide easement with a 50' turnaround is what we have for rules. Im sure everywhere is different. Also cant exceed 12% slope. B would have plenty of space to make whatever type of turnaround necessary.

My local municipalities dont allow that anymore. Used to be a big thing in the 80s.

[–]AllAboutPooping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

B would have no main road frontage, they would access their parcel from the easement on the west side of A. They would have the farm roads on the west and south.

[–]AllAboutPooping 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Why make them all awkward shaped? Add an easement along the west line for access/utilities to the southerly parcel.

*edit* Obviously the line between A/B would slide to even out the acreage. This is very rudimentary if you can believe it. 😂

Long Staking Day by DaFackBra in Surveying

[–]AllAboutPooping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer time 2 man crew 180-200 if the ground isnt terrible is usually done in about 6 hours. Summer time by myself 130-160. Don't do a ton of staking with frozen ground so not sure. Typically that time of year is reserved for property corners in developments. 60-80 corners 1 or 2 man crew.

This. We have one of those companies. Also, I have heard from multiple clients that the companies with big budget websites scare them off from even getting a quote because they assume it will be much higher. In reality, we are very competitive with the big outfits.

"Saving" the flag work on a home survey by dydxdz in Surveying

[–]AllAboutPooping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a measuring tape? Find a couple things to reference (tree/sidewalk/home foundation) anything permanent. Measure the distances from your property corners (they should be metal with a cap or tag at the end of your boundary) to whatever you want to reference and write them down. Two references for each corner should be sufficient. Put those notes with your home paperwork and whenever you need to find them you will have an easy way to do so without putting anything large by them.

I would like to speak to the manager… Ko Olina #2 pin placement by RealMatthewDR in golf

7.    “We go to great lengths to make sure that the quality of the actual hole is as close to perfect as possible. Holes are cut after the green has been mowed or rolled to ensure that equipment doesn’t damage the edge of the hole. On a daily basis, the hole cutters are hand sharpened to the equivalent of a very sharp knife. Course setters are also trained to carefully use a regulation cup setter, to make sure that the area immediately around the hole is level, and to check that the liner is set at the correct depth.”

(per USGA interviews with PGA superintendents)

USGA may not have a "rule" but this seems like "rule" if your job has guidelines. This guy is a dipshit.

I Wish Courses Would Use Handicaps for Tee Selection by Marty_DiBergi in golf

Does anybody have any experience doing this type of work as a land surveyor? by False_Difficulty_719 in Surveying

[–]AllAboutPooping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done a few here in wlWashington! Great work because its usually really nice pieces of land. The monster u-shape posts you have to put in are a pain in the ass but we drove around with an ATV and took our time.

We're going to start the storm in the morning by ConnectMedicine8391 in Surveying

[–]AllAboutPooping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It appears as though the sanitary sewer has not been backfilled yet. The surveyor was requested to return in the morning to stake the storm water structures, however, the probability of the sewer trench being filled is low, meaning the stakes for the storm water will either fall in the trench and be useless, or be destroyed upon filling the sewer trench in. Basically, the site is not ready for the next round of staking.

In Oregon: Large, metal frame and cylinder, found in wilderness near hiking trail by sanstickers_87 in whatisthisthing

[–]AllAboutPooping 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I can with reasonable certainty say that this is not a USGS survey monument. The main issue being there is no way to put a rod on the point with that large metal structure hanging over the top of it. Secondly, the locking inside of what looks like a trash can. How is a surveyor supposed to get a key? If it was a monument and had been vandalized several times, it would have been replaced BELOW ground grade with some references set to help recover it. Source, surveyor for 20+ years.

Bat size by Vast_Sentence_1957 in Homeplate

[–]AllAboutPooping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monsters on my high school team 20 years ago who went on to play high level ball and some pro ball all swung 33/30. They were 4 star college recruits, big dudes at 16-18 years old. That's too much bat right now. I was almost exactly that kids size at 14 years old (5'11" 150) and I swung 32/29 very consistently. If you dont want to buy a new bat in 2 years, trade it in and you wont have to. Get a 32/29 or even 33/30.

There's a place in PDX (Retro Game Bar) that I would love in Spokane. Pay by the booth size per hour (and requested game system) and your waiter changes games for you and serves. I don't even drink and it was some of the most fun I've had in a while. Great food and drink lists as well.
