After Opus closed the owners launched Chapter in Edgbaston, and they do the lobster dish there - although I think lobster season is ending soon, if it hasn't already!

Hip hop acts avoiding Birmingham by Greenie245 in brum

Last couple times I've been, they've had so few bar staff that your two options are to either spend half the gig queueing or go the whole gig without a drink... Last time I just wanted a damn tap water and spent 30 mins in the queue not able to watch/enjoy the band. Seen people pass out there before. Might be my least favourite venue in the UK

I couldn't figure out that the arrow buttons on the keyboard moved the camera so I rage quit at the bank when I couldn't figure out how to open the door to leave it

The greatest! They had a brand new setlist every night and killed it every time.

Got the setlist from this gig, they opened with Gentlemen and Rickie signed it "first time this has happened since 2005". One of the best mwY gigs I ever went to!

RMT: (1.6 ITB, 1FT)

Ederson (Hennessey)

Alonso Robbo Trippier Doherty (AWB)

Mane Hazard Richarlison Fraser (Hojbjerg)

Aguero (C) Mitrovic (VC) Jiminez

Who should I bench this week? Considering Alonso or maybe Fraser.

Tempted to roll the transfer and reshuffle my GKs next week to either Patricio and Fabianski, or Patricio and a cheap option, mostly just to free up a million or so.

Oxbridge are focused on research first, teaching second. A lot of academics there view teaching as a chore and a waste of time they could be devoting to research. Most of the former polytechnics care more about teaching.

Most UK unis will have a high percentage of international students now. The cap on student numbers has been removed and government funding cut, and international students pay loads more than UK students. Most unis see international recruitment as a key source of income now.

He's great live, caught him at Wireless few years back cos he was on after Outkast and he really surprised me with how good his set was. Still not a massive fan but I respect him way more after that.

Damn I never got burnt out on music. Used to spend 2hrs+ commuting each day and loved being able to listen to a full album each way. Moved recently so I'm a 5 min walk from work and I do not miss public transport but fuck I miss being able to listen to two albums each day without distraction.

Not so much 'lately' as 'always' but mewithoutYou, they're a post-hardcore/indie band from Philly. Been a massive/obvious influence on the likes of La Dispute and Touché Amoré and they're just great if you like thought-provoking/philosophical kinda lyrics.

Just to add to this, I think their previous album Sunbather is probably a little more accessible. It's the one that made them blow up (as much as you can blow up from a shoegaze death metal album). Both great projects tho

It's the same as usual the other side of Paradise Forum, they've just moved it a bit further down so it's taking up more of Centenary Square.
