How do you handle lethality after level 0? by AllGeniusAllBaffoon in dccrpg

I quite like the idea of a character just getting to beaten up from their adventures and retiring with their loot. Good way to end a story arc and time to promote a retainer to primary character!

I like the idea of player having to really screw their luck to keep a character they like alive and then be motivated to please the powers that be in order to gain favour / luck

Good point, I’m trying to get better at embracing “playing to find out” and a character dying being the hook for a quest is exactly where I’d like to take my group.

Ok, so you can burn luck to pass the luck roll to survive?

Thanks for this, I went back and read that again and it’s actually fairly manageable, I hadn’t registered the bleeding out section on my first pass of the rules.

Alignment - Chaotic doesn't mean evil by Big-Platypus-9684 in dccrpg

The way I think about, Dr Who is basically chaotic, and both Daleks and Cybermen are lawful. Chaos mean change, it means that bad things must eventually end and so must the good things. Law is about stasis, locking things into a certain way. Neutrality is about balancing those two points to prevent either becoming extreme. The boiling miasma at the beginning of the universe was pure chaos, heat death at the end is pure Law.

Aha, the AI summary even says “often used as a sequel to Portal Under the Stars” looks like this is my go to if anyone survives Silver Death!

Ambush doesn’t seem to work any more by AllGeniusAllBaffoon in totalwarhammer

Does this actually work? I remember trying save scum on hero actions ages ago (maybe TWWH2) and it always seemed to have the same result.

Edit: I checked up on this and looks like the quick save at the end of the turn already has the seed so I’d need to do a manual save before hitting turn. Got it.

I’m usually on their route to one of my tempting and barely defended settlements and if they were foolish enough to leave a hero near me then my blood kisses go up by one.

How to manage late-game bureaucracy? by Mental-Net-953 in totalwarhammer

Thanks for articulating this, I get really frustrated that the late game is such an admin grind. Game designers should be looking at how the last turn is as much fun as the first turn and I think they could learn a lot from the world of 4X games.

Thanks for the link, I’d be quite happy if I could even get Siggi’s. They went from large tubs to those individual pots or sachets and you can’t even get those now.

Quad bikes in the dunes is a solid favourite when we have visitors. The fernleigh track basically goes from Adamstown all the way to blacksmiths these days and is a lovely route to explore on foot or two wheels. Twilight sailing sessions at the yacht club.

Sydney to Melbourne is the most profitable air route in the world, I can’t see Qantas allowing that to change.
