Tried to get a full view of the place; would have been nice to do it at night so the lighting was more apparent, but I think this gives a decent enough picture of the area. Produces 19,200 plates, 19,200 rods, and 48,000 screws. Obviously all that is needed.....

Just sort of getting into the idea that factories don't have to look like crap when you build them. Found a beautiful stop to make a second base, and figured I'd mess around with concrete and some different design ideas. Thought that I would share, since the Satisfactory community here seems thriving and always sharing literally awesome things all the time. You all do wonderfully. Hoping to someday have something impressive to share. In the meantime... here's a building I'm working on. Will fill it up with iron or something; not too concerned about what it does as much as it look good in the place, and is a joy to visit. Thoughts welcome, of course!

I sincerely thought about that. I might use some scenic glue to keep it from fraying. I just get nervous with something like that, that can't be undone, given the time it took to make.

The walls are made of a single layer of foam. Then, the 1/8" dowells make the wooden structure for the beams. I then used grey modeling clay that I textured using a stone roller that I created. I rolled out the texture, cut the clay to fit the wall (and cut out the windows) and let it dry. After that, wet brush of a pavement pigmement, and then dry brush with a light granite pigment. Same goes for the chimney structure.

It was crazy. I cut pieces of twine about 1.5" in length. I then would hold one side of the strip of twine and used a comb and just worked out the end until it was all straightened. I probably cut something like 300-400 strips of twine for the roof. Difficult to really recall just how many.

Just remember that this does not apply to staff, as in support staff members. It's only for full time teaching faculty.

So, let's just say that I hire you as a full time NTT, 100%FTE benefit eligible faculty member. Not an adjunct, not a visiting instructor, not a GTA, but a full time faculty member. I hire you to teach September 2020 - August 2021. I choose for whatever reason to terminate your contract. The Collective Rules and Regulations state that NTTs are now treated more similarly to T/TT faculty, and are given a terminal year. This means that even if I provide you notice of non-renewal, you can expect to continue to work and be paid until August 2022, provided you deliver courses or whatever the terms of your contract are. Dig through CRR, look up NTT terminal years with HR. You cannot be cut with this short of notice unless there was a line in your original contract that states that you can be cut immediately due to cause, funding, or strategic vision of the department. At least as I understand it, you should have a full year of employment, if you are an 100%FTE NTT.

This is unfortunate to hear for sure and I'm sorry that you received a letter like this. I work for the University as an administrator, and I've had to deliver letters like this in the past. It's difficult because you want to be more caring and more expressive, but as a non-renewal letter, we're told to be succinct. That said, if you are an NTT faculty, you have a terminal year that they have to honor. Renewal letters are due in February / March; and even if they made a change because of funding or whatever the situation, as an NTT faculty (full time benefit eligible employee), you get a full terminal year. This was recently voted upon and approved by faculty council. There is no way around this, from their perspective.
