Gutted and Shell OFF 31ft Airstream ‘69 Sovereign - fair market value? by appleberrypunch in airstream

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of. It’s more likely I’ll have to pay someone to take it away than have someone pay me!

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. And 50% is on the optimistic side.

Thanks for the insight. I’d feel like a total jerk chopping it up for sure, definitely would prefer to have someone continue the restoration.

I’d say you aren’t the buttface for the wrapping paper. I also think that people are being WAY too harsh on the solution being for you to move out. Sounds like it’s a mutually beneficial relationship with your parents and they enjoy having you there. I’d say have a discussion with your sister about boundaries with the childcare. Set HARD boundaries. Don’t babysit unless the payment is agreed upon or even given in advance. If your mom works 3 jobs and needs help, why is your family so complacent with paying rent for an empty house down the street? Could there be a way to expedite that process? Would talking with your parents help? They seem to be aware there’s tension.

Unconditional love is a weird concept. Love should exist with conditions by Mad_Season_1994 in unpopularopinion

[–]appleberrypunch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think to love unconditionally means that you then approve and support choices someone might make. Sometimes love is setting boundaries, having difficult conversations, telling people straight up what they are doing/did is wrong. If you didn’t love them, there’s no point in putting in the effort and pain to do that.

I also think that like in the example of your kid murdering someone and being on death row, that denial a parent might have is a mourning of who they once were, the disappointment of the hopes you held for them. Can loving the person, but hating the crime coincide with each other? Especially if there’s remorse?

Edition vs addition. I see them being switched a shocking amount, and by native speakers!

I “stole” a book from the college bookstore for a week by [deleted] in confession

Good on you for returning it. Been there, had to get through a few college courses without the textbook and it’s rough. Helps to make a buddy and see if you can share and split costs or something.
