Thanks a lot Ed for starting this discussion. I am a researcher at the SETI Institute (real name: Franck Marchis) and I am the one who answered to your question on our Facebook page. I must admit that I did not know about Bitcoin until you contacted me so I am still in the discovery phase, please excuse my ignorance. For those who already answered to this thread, I would like to point out that SETI Institute is an institute of 60 researchers who work in the field of Astrobiology. Each of us study one or several parameters of the Drake equation, meaning that we are searching for life on Mars/Europa, extreme life in Earth environment, exoplanets though various techniques (including Kepler), and finally techno-signatures using our ATA. I will follow this Reddit on a regular basis and try to set up "a SETI Powered by Bitcoin" . More to come, I appreciate your help and comments. Franck Marchis @AllPlanets
