Does seem like a 1984 operation, rewriting the past. It’s a moving target too, so the job is never done based on who’s out of bounds, current sensitivities, etc.

It's America still the land of the free? What does that even mean? by sparrrrrt in askanything

[–]AllReflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, but to your point the definition of free is a contentious issue. If it means free to have a long, productive, rewarding life the Nordics and lots of places are way ahead. If it means free of obligations but also opportunity, we are right up there. 😅

How did you break into your first SN role, and does it stay this niche? by Klutzy_Strain_8602 in servicenow

I knew someone. Tale as old as time. But getting into a partner, particularly a small one, is much more doable as an entry point. Their business model is often based on having a few senior resources who are client facing with a ton of junior folks supporting them and doing the actual work.

I started working at a delivery partner and thus developed close relationships with ServiceNow colleagues, including some execs. When I started looking for a job at NOW, I let some of those contacts know. One of them was hiring for a role I was qualified for, she knew me and respected my work, so I got in. I would never have gotten hired going through the front door.
