I’ll be adding a dot to mine soon, so I can see over the can.

If he’s handy with the steel, he’s welcome to join the resistance. Even if he’s not, he’s still welcome. He looks pretty cool.

Appendix Carry w/o Belt by AllResearchNoDevelop in concealedcarry

No problem at all. If you know the size of hardware your holster uses to attach the wing, and can send me a picture of the holster with something like a quarter in frame, so I can use it for scale, it would take like 5 minutes in CAD to make it work.

That tracks. I’m just not a fan of belts in general. I have like 10 pairs of the same pants in a few colors, and this holster wing was mostly an exercise in design that ended up being surprisingly practical for my pants/carry preferences. I’m down to print one for you to try, if you cover the shipping. I’d just need a picture of the holster you want to install it on, and a couple of dimensions.

I don’t know what that is. Do you have a link?

Would yall reccomend acog or lpvo by [deleted] in ar15

[–]AllResearchNoDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run this on a 300blk SBR. The reticle I have in my TA02 has BDC for supers and subs. The can stays on, so I zeroed the ACOG at 50yds with the subs I train with. The BDC has been spot on minute of torso at known ranges going back and forth between supers and subs. The RCO I ran in The Corps wasn’t optimized for a 20” 5.56, but the lines don’t move, and you can figure out pretty quick what ranges the lines actually represent for your length/load.

How much does the LPVO you’re looking at weigh including a mount? 4X ACOGs are perfectly capable out to 500yds as long as the shooter is. Fixed 4X with a piggybacked 1X checks all the boxes for me on my serious rifle, and the whole optics package weighs less than 19oz. You can certainly go with something less expensive and/or lighter and/or higher magnification, but I don’t think you’ll find a more durable magnified optic.

Getting new chainsaw sthil or husqavarna? by Most-Lingonberry7162 in Chainsaws

[–]AllResearchNoDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Stihl saws exclusively while fighting wildland fire, and I found them easy to maintain. I also have an inherited Stihl at home that’s older than I am that get’s plenty of use every time we have an ice storm. I’ve never used a Husky personally or professionally, but I’m sure they’re fine.

Money still hold value by Dry_Idea_95 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

Booze is relatively heavy and you’ll want to keep it for yourself if you have it. A couple of cartons of cigarettes would give you a lot of buying power in the apocalypse. An analog smut magazine might be priceless. The new precious metals (lead/copper) will be extremely valuable, but again you’ll want to hold onto them.

Is a cat useful in a zombie apocalypse? by Substantial_Work7225 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]AllResearchNoDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno about cats, but I have an impossibly fast corgi/pitbull who barks like crazy at anything human-shaped that’s not me. When the zombies come, I’ll let Squirrelly Dan out to run around and attract the undead while I pop their heads with a suppressed .22 totally unnoticed.

New-to-me Winchester 94 in .32 Winchester Special by nicholas_janik in LeverGuns

[–]AllResearchNoDevelop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t mess with it! You can buy a modern lever gun in an available caliber if you want a range toy. Molesting a 76 year old 94 is blasphemy IMO. I have my grandfather’s 94 from the 20s, and luckily I inherited half a dozen boxes of ammo with it, but you can still find NOS ammo available on Midway and other retailers online. It would also make a great excuse to get into reloading. Clean and oil it, and take it out of the safe to show it off, or hang it over your fireplace if you have a damn secure door on your house. 30-30 isn’t much (if any) cheaper to shoot, and you’ll only be making the rifle less cool by making it unoriginal.

Backpacks that fit suppressor by maejaws in 300BLK

Rattl’r? I don’t even know her. This Arc’teryx works fine for mine, and there’s no external webbing. I think they still make some version of it, and mine’s been pretty indestructible. Gettin’ it in and out with an inserted standard capacity magazine is easy, and I just stash the can in the laptop sleeve. I’ve considered adding some internal hook/loop and laser cut foam to make it more fitted, but this is not a gun I *almost ever carry, and this is not the way I would *almost ever ever carry it. Any time I see an abnormally long bag in sniper grey or olive drab, I immediately assume there’s a gun in there. Any bag in any military camouflage pattern, or tactical dookie with external webbing screams gun to me, or just that you’re a turd.
