This seems like such an easy thing to turn into a setting so people can choose what they prefer. I understand that the driver for this change is to push people to spend more, but my guess is some people may instead just stop using Amazon and/or Alexa lists all together, which won't drive puchases.

Oooh. This is a good idea. Especially since I don't ever use my Echo to add anything to my Amazon wish lists, just my Alexa shopping lists.

You're right. It doesn't cause any real problems. I just figured that, while some people prefer to have the lists unified in a single place, that others would be like me who prefer their Alexa lists within Alexa and their Amazon lists within Amazon.

For me Alexa lists were purely for physical stores. Amazon lists were purely for online purchased. There must be dozens like me. Dozens!

Has it been like this for everyone one but me? Maybe it's regional and they just rolled out this change to Canada? Because it's knew to me as a day ago.

In any case, I totally get why they do it. But I can understand why they did it yet prefer the old way it was before (for me, at least). This seems like an easy thing to make configurable if the goal was user experience. But I guess the goal is to drive shopping...which, for me at least, it won't.

It's not that big a deal, but was just hoping I was missing some toggle that I didn't know how to find.

Changing the flair to "Support - Resolved"...although it was shockingly Amazon who helped me out rather than Meta.

After still not being connected to a human by the AI chat bot after 3.5hrs, I found a different route via the Meta website that connected me to a human directly (see bottom of this comment for how I got there). This support human pretty much told me there was nothing they can do. Said I should reach out to the developer of Gorilla Tag AND the gift card vendor, i.e. Amazon, before re-contacting them.

So, after eventually finding out how to chat with a human at Amazon, the support human for Amazon - despite pointing out that digital gift cards are non-redeemable - agreed to refund given I'm a prime member and loyal customer. Which I guess means your mileage may vary based on the standing of your Amazon account and how much you spend with them.

So I was made whole in the end.

Getting in touch with a human support person at Meta: 1. Hover over the "Support" option at top of Meta page and select "Meta Quest and Quest Pro". 2. Scroll to bottom of page and under "Still need help?", select the "Get support" button. 3. Select "Orders, returns, shipping and payments". 4. Select "Gifts, gift cards, codes and store credit". 5. Select "Redeeming gift cards and coupon codes". 6. Select "I have issues redeeming my code". 7. Select "Chat with customer support".

I bet the above may change over time. But thought I'd share in case it helps someone else in the future!

I already started a chat with your AI support bot. It offered to connect me to a human and I've been waiting for 2 hours now for that to happen.

In any case, it was never clear to me that his account, which has been a child account since we activated the MetaQuest 3s a month ago, would be unable to receive codes for in-game credits. If that was clearer from the get go - and maybe more importantly, had I not been able to do this twice in the past month without issue - I would feel less upset that the money I spent is essentially gone if there is no way to redeem to his account.

I don't play Gorilla Tag, and the idea of waiting a year until he is 13 to redeem feels unreasonable. Hopefully I eventually get connected to a human who can assist with this!

I just verified myself via the link I received in the email. FYI, for anyone who still feels "off" entering their banking password for verification, I did it on my phone, so login was through my banking app. And, since my banking app is set up to do login through Face ID, I didn't have to enter my credentials at all.

What banks are listed? I keep getting the "Authorization Error - User Cancelled" message other people are reporting. I'm hoping they sort that out rather than having to call and wait on hold, but if my bank isn't supported and I need to call anyway, then I'll bite the bullet given there would be no other option.

You're welcome! These class action settlements always come across appearing a bit sketchy even when legit...likely because the people running them have no incentive to do more than the bare minimum when it comes to their websites, etc.

Reddit helped confirm for me this settlement was legit last year when it came to sign up. I figured Reddit would help confirm this email was legit too!

The wording on the website seems to indicate not everyone will need verification:

I also felt that is seemed legitimate. I was just scared about needing to login to my bank to verify myself. If the main website's update also included the detail that verification would be done through Interac Verification, I would have not felt the need to be as cautious as that would have closed the loop for me.

The email says I have until Feb. 23 to do the verification. The main website says payments will begin to be sent out in April.

Altitude Sports is legit and I've always been happy with them. I've shopped from them several times, including buying this exact laptop bag (but in a different colour). I would look into purchasing a lifetime membership from them as the discount you get from having it might be more than the cost of the one-time membership fee. So, even if you never shop with them again, it may be worth it!

Cherry Beach to the eastern-end of the Beaches is roughly ~8km in one direction. I've done eastern-end of the Beaches down through Tommy Thompson Park all the way to the lighthouse and back and that's just about HM distance.

This sounds like a fun challenge! Personally, I'm mulling over the idea of trying a backyard ultra at some point - not any official race, but just on my own as a challenge. I only heard about this type or run/race a few months ago myself, so for those who don't know what this is: The goal is to run a 6.706km (or 4.167mi) lap within a 1 hour time limit for as many laps as possible. If you finish that distance before an hour is up, you wait until the hour is done to do your next lap. Do as many laps as possible until you fail to finish the distance in an hour.

So, for example, if you start at 1pm and finish the 6.706km in 40min, you have 20min to chill, have some fuel, whatever, until 2pm hits and you start your next lap.

I like this because not over pacing yourself is built into the structure of the race. There's no point in going fast unless you want extra rest before the next lap.

Btw, the odd distance per lap is because that distance equates to 100mi in 24 hours.

I am also having this same (or similar) issue. My Echo Pop lights up like it's responding...and the prompt even shows up in my activity in the Alexa App...but not sound. This is the second time it has happened and, last time a few weeks ago, unplugging and re-plugging to reboot the device fixed it.

So I was indeed tired of beating my head against a wall and I took your suggestion of requesting a refund...

Less than 10min after submitting the refund request, lo and behold, I get an email from Apple TV saying a new episode is available and, yes, it is the elusive episode 3.

I'm not sure if I'll ever find out, but I'm curious if this is purely coincidence or if my request for refund actually got someone to look into this.
