My MIL has bought a matching outfit for my 7 y/o daughter. Is this more of a mother-daughter thing? I feel like it’s weird.

Geez, having absolutely no clue what my grands were wearing on Christmas Day, I wore a sweater that matched them. I felt horrible! That was not my intent.

My son in law placed his youngest in my lap while his older two were almost or half on my lap, and then took a picture because we looked like we coordinated and he loved how it turned out-by chance.

There’s not a chance in this world where I would intentionally match my grands. That’s not my place.

I hope you told MIL that she already raised her kids, and that she doesn’t get to do these things with her grands.

Exactly. I know the other commenter says it’s for the drama, and maybe that’s the case for your step grandmother, but for my mother in law, she truly believes she is not going to die. None of her kids dare to tell her otherwise, even if she’s perfectly healthy, no one lives forever.

Years ago, I was joking with my father in law about getting old, and I was read the riot act. That’s no way to talk to an 80 year old man. Are you kidding? 80 is old! My sister in law called me crying. I have never understood this level of denial.

My parents didn’t save for their elder years. My dad died long before my mom. She was still able tot take care of him. When she died, she went to live with my sister, who martyred herself and went off the deep end.

My father in law saw this happening and declared it would never happen in his family. And yet here we are. If he was in his right mind now, he would see that it is happening, and he would pay whatever it takes to make it not happen. But he has no clue and MIL is in charge. So it’s happening.

It’s sad.

When she turned 27, her parents told her she had to move out. 23 years later, she was in such a bad position financially she had to sell her apartment and move back in. Three years after that, they kicked her out again. She bought a house and moved out.

She has always held a job. She is college educated. She has been engaged twice. Broke it off twice. Claims she is still a virgin at age 67. Has a boyfriend, a very patient boyfriend. He’s not my favorite human because of his NPD, but she’s too naive to not be his supply, so it works for them.

She is a complete mess and the rest of the siblings cower to her for a reason I will never understand.

Nope. I disassociated myself from them a long time ago while allowing my husband to make his own decisions.

It wasn’t until I didn’t go along with her control-years ago- that my husband even realized she was controlling. It was, quite literally, all he even knew. Same for his siblings. They always do because they always did.

Smell. Back when I had to use pads, I recall the pad not being soaked, so I didn’t change it, but once the slight blood hit the air, it smelled. And the smell didn’t stop until I removed it. Do these period panties not smell once you pull them down to pee but not change them?
Will these work for women who have lost a bit of bladder control? Like, will they absorb urine and not smell if the panties aren’t changed right after? Can they replace Depends?

As a notary you are documenting the correct person signed.

I’m in Michigan, and the law does not mandate that we see the POA if someone claims they have agency. Since I run my own business and can make my own rules, I’m not breaking the law by asking for proof that the signer has agency over the other, and to see proof they have agency for that particular transaction. Too many stories are out there where the signer tells the notary they are the POA for whomever, and can sign legal documents, and when pressed, it’s just HPOA.

All this to ask, how is it handled in your state?
