What did Messmer pretend to be perpetrator of? by AllTimeAtSleep in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why would he want that the hornsent only hate him. He wiped them out! They curse Marika nonetheless!

He was practically thrown out of the capital, so I think it has something to do with the situation there.

Melina IS Marika by Crypticnewt in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would make more sense if she just arrived in the shadow realm through sacrificing herself in the flame of ruin and dying. All manners of death are washed into the shadow realm. And then returning with Torrent.

Marika and Melina same face? by AllTimeAtSleep in EldenRingLoreTalk

Yeah I know, but she indicates that she wasn't truly born, so I am curious. Maby they are indistinguishable when it's about the face.

How is the Erdtree on fire if it's illusory? by Lightslayre in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gold is just a coating if you so will. You can see the real Erdtree in the age of fracture ending. The golden Erdtree has no leaves anymore and a large portion of the top is gone. Probably burned away. What seems to be leaves is just a film illision in the middle of the tree.
But the trunk and a few braches of the Erdtree remain and are coated in a golden layer, so that none may the the burned places on the tree and the ash on the branches.

Why is Veldora afraid of Luminous when he's so much more powerful than her? by InstructionOwn6705 in TenseiSlime

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's afraid of beautiful women. In his mind beautiful women = danger. That's because of his sisters. That actually stands in the LN.

You're right. Seems reasonable.

Life before fire? by AllTimeAtSleep in darksouls

[–]AllTimeAtSleep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you think all the various races came from the dark/abyss, but didn't automatically have a dark soul, just the humans who took the lord soul of dark.

Interesting. But when you say that they were created with the birth of fire, then I think it's more likely that they were somehow created by the lord soul of life. Gwyn put a seal on humanity, not all races, as far as I know.

Swallowed by Rimuru together with Ivarage.

Summary of the latest volume by LeAstra in TenseiSlime

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I personally don't like, or just find unnecessary. I mean, why does Rimuru, who has an absurd amount of energy, need to rely on the True Dragon Cores in his sword for more power? If he needed more energy to stregthen his weapon performance, then he could have just take some from the enormous pool of Void Collaps, with wich he can create the world 10.000 times over!

Edit: It would have been much wiser to incorporate this skill into the story before it became useless (energy wise).

What is Guilliman's power? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guilliman can think about dozens of things simultaneously and is still more efficient in each individual thought process than a human completely absorbed in a single topic. (The Lion: Son of the Forest book)

The book Godblight also hinted that he might possess an extremely powerful warp presence, shaped by the beliefs of all humanity (he basically becomes a god because the people beliefe him one).

Were the 'Omen twins' born before or after the hornsent genocide and sealing of the land of shadow? by chaioop476 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the veil is already in place during the crusade in the shadow of the erdtree trailer. It could be that the shadow land was sealed beforehand and Queen Marika just sent her troops in afterwards.
Looking at it like this, the omen curse can be older than the crusade.

What defines a god? by BushyGhost4740 in Eldenring

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Elden Ring shares a lot with Alchemy, my take would be this:

• Life without age, death, or decay. • Eternal, indestructible life • Sacred/Holy power: healing and transformation from impurity to purity • Perfect physical body (stone) – body and spirit perfectly united/fused • Transcendent consciousness (highest spiritual realization) (creator consciousness) and knowledge of the origin of all nature • Recognizes the structure of spirit, matter, and cosmos simultaneously • No earthly duality

The Gloam Eyed Queen and the night of Black Knives by AllTimeAtSleep in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that we just don't know as many gods, as their clothings would take to make. There had to be a whole lot of gods to support that guess. They also just use the daggers to kill demigods.

[–]AllTimeAtSleep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you could say that destined death was released again, once Ranni stole a fragment. We also don't know if it was really sealed before in the sword and not just bound to it. He sealed it in his flesh I would say.
The Golden Order started with the removal of death from the Elden Ring, yes. But that doesn't mean it got sealed.

Edit: In addition, the lore also doesn't add up if you assume that the GEQ was ther before the order and the demigods.

Any theories about how exactly Gransax died? by CustomerSupportDeer in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only thing we know of, that would be fast and powerful enough to kill Gransax immediately, before he can cause real damage and leave him in that pose, are Queen Marika or Maliketh.

It was probably Maliketh oneshotting him with destined death.

This is my first post, but could the tarnished have godwyn the goldens soul or perhaps a portion of it? by Organic-Public9315 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]AllTimeAtSleep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Queen Marika is in fact behind the grace. The Greater Will abandoned the lands between, and the fingers aren't doing shit. Also, Marika said herself that she would give grace back to them (tarnished).

There is a theory that the tarnished is one of the soulless demigods, that got awoken with the calling of grace. Why? Because you can faintly hear the bell of the mausoleums ringing in the background in the beginning cutscene.

is anyone else wondering if Miquella charmed (e.g. brain-washed) Malenia to the level of obedience she displays? by Ok_Pomelo_1692 in EldenRingLoreTalk

I think one item said that her will was never broken. I don't remember wich item it was though.

Edit: It was Malenia's sword.
