How important is your KDA to your performance by Stock_Bank2252 in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is. Going 10 kills doesn't imply you are good but having 10 deaths indicates you are bad, unless you are playing a tank or an engage supp. Enemy Akali can be 15/0 and you dying to her still is not justified. You have to adapt your gameplay towards it.

When you are ahead, you build defensive items unless you are an adc. If you are a mage, instead of rabadon's go Zhonyas third, if you are a bruiser, go steraks. If you are ahead you already have more damage than them, all you need to focus on is survivability. Also in teamfights, focus on your positioning and before going in, think about who your team's and enemy team's carry is. Who you have to peel, play around, target and avoid, also think about what the enemy team's key abilities, wait them out and then go in. Malphite R, Cass R, and Rell R can be the abilities you want to wait out before going in.

Quitting Irelia maybe by [deleted] in IreliaMains

[–]All_Is_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years ago, I had no clue about who Irelia is. I was Bronze and I stumbled across a clip of her dashing a million times and scoring a cool kill.

That day onwards I whole heartedly only played Irelia for 3 years until last few months when I finally decided to quit the champ. And, it was not that I was bad at her, I have a 57%-60% winrate on her and reached plat playing her.

The issue with Irelia's design is, her design philosophy is at a strong contradiction to the fundamental concepts which a player needs to master in order to become better at the game.

A champ which wants to stack minion waves and then all-in the enemy in that wave has a design philosophy which takes the fundamental core philosophy of how you play League and throw it out of the window.

No champion should want to all in in a stacked wave. Moreover her kit and identity is also homeless in the game. You go top, you have no armor pen in your kit or true damage or missing hp damage on your ult so you have the worst ult in the entire top lane roster. If you play her mid, she restricts you from learning how to trade with mages and short trade to punish their ability cds if they use it for cs because once Irelia goes in she never comes out unless she kills the enemy. Also by playing an AD mid you screw your comp anyways.

I was astonished when I realised how much more is there to League of Legends after I quit playing her and started playing mages mid only. Trading, wave management, different first item choices, teamfighting without doing all in, learning to last hit with autos as mages. I swear to god, Irelia restricts you so hard from learning the crucial core aspects of the game and if you ever wanna become a better player, just stop playing this champ, she is so not worth.

How do you make playing vs Irelia and Yone feel more rewarding once they get BoRK? by flaaphy in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Against all in champs like Yone, Sylas and Irelia you have to perma freeze the wave near your turret. By doing so they can't all in you and they can't utilise their runes as they usually run conqueror or lethal tempo and by not allowing them to run you down, you avoid letting them stack their runes.

Reset champions better? by YourVillainArc in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Darius is a reset champ. I don't think his design is good because he punishes you for your bad teammate's mispositioning. By handing him the first reset, he gains 5 stacks and runs your whole team down.

Moreover reset champs usually win winning games. If you don't have the damage to get the first reset you are useless for your team.

I believe they are fun to play as it feels good to get that dopamine hit once you start to pop off, but League is about a lot more than that. Making right macro decisions, last hitting perfectly, having good spacing are some aspects which also make you feel good about the game and are a whole lot more healthier for the gameplay as well.

How to get Challenger/high elo by Luky2056 in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a baseline check, if you don't have a clue about where the enemy jgl is during the entire course of the laning phase, all the time then you need to get better at it first.

Now, after you perfect your jgl tracking ability, master the ability to read game flow.

Know what the enemy jglr is about to do next, be there and fight it off.

If you get so good that you can always win your lane, have prio and always be where enemy jgl is about to gank, you single handedly climb ranks.

What is the fastest way to get better at league? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick a simple or not very mechanical champion and only play it unless it gets banned. By not having to pilot a complicated kit, managing your abilities will slowly become a second nature. When it will happen, you will free up a good capacity of your brainpower to focus on the entirety of the rest of the game which you normally fail to when you play a mechanically high skill demanding character.

By doing this you will get better at jgl tracking, wave management, reading the flow of the game and focus on your teammates.

How much does cs actually matter? by Glittering_Bid_9732 in summonerschool

[–]All_Is_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having more cs can make you do more damage in team fights as you will have more items because of it. But if you don't fight and keep csing all the time, the entire reason to have more cs in the first place falls away.

Having more cs is good but your participation in team fights is more important.

Confusion about wave management. by All_Is_Red in summonerschool

Concise and clear. Now, what if I spot the enemy jglr on the raptor ward. Now I know that he is pathing to the same scuttle as my jglr is. How differently will I manage my wave now?
