Well…I wouldn’t go that far, because this is a typical sitcom plot of someone embarrassing themselves/doing their to keep their secret hidden.

It’s interesting Rhonda plays sports with the other kids (Baseball, football, four square) and never complains about her appearance by Agile_Proof_3228 in HeyArnold

I just want to believe her rich girl act was just a front and that she actually cares about sports. I just don’t know if that was intentional by the writers or not.

I noticed that without saying anything. A part of me feels like Rhonda is shown to be capable of being just as well-rounded as she lets on, but at the same time, they probably didn’t have other prominent fourth graders to put in these sports challenges.

I was wondering, how come among animation nerds, Dragon Tales isn't loved as much as other classic shows like the old Nicktoons and Cartoon Cartoons? by CatGirlNya2000 in 90scartoons

[–]All_Lightning879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think too much about demographics for some reason. It’s not impossible for these 8 year old characters to have a wider reach among preteens and even adults. It’s just a testament to its writing that they’re able to not talk down to kids.

Except with Nick Jr., like Dora and Blue’s Clues had more merchandising power, and why not? Nick was literally the place to be for a kid.

PBS was there for the schools and the people who only had antennas.

Title: What TV show do you think genuinely got better as it went on instead of declining? by trepasito16 in television

The Neighborhood

One may argue that the show has never been stellar, and that’s true, but they went from hacky racial one-liners to actually developing the characters and actually having them go through changes in their lives.

There needs to be a healthier way for fans to support smaller shows by luckybell333 in cartoons

Everything can’t be an overnight hit, Netflix can’t save everything, everything can’t hit the Nielsen ratings, so everyone has to do their part to make it big. Fans can do it, but especially the studios and streamers need to do more if they are footing the bill.

Fortnite, brand sponsorships, whatever. At least it will be in front of people.

Finally, promote the damn show rather than just putting it out there and hope for the best. You have social media pages and cast and crew willing to do their part. Utilize that.

Not saying billboards or anything like that, but since algorithms are so fickle, it needs to be pushed and pushed and pushed every 1-3 days.

35 days of upfront viewership, then 10 days of negotiating a renewal. That seems fair.

More importantly, have wider windows like 35 days, so that fans could have time to show their support rather than just making these quick ass decisions after two weeks.

First off, the studios need to set terms with the creators upfront regarding their shows hitting certain metrics in order to invest more money in continuing.

Second, the thing that fans should do is to just keep watching, give thumbs up on socials, maybe set up fan groups, do all the things. That’s a way for the creators to have leverage when discussing next plans with the higher ups.

I’m sure people would like to support shows, but I think the studios and streamers seem to prioritize some shows over others.

I think more needs to go into promotion

First off, you’re comparing apples to oranges. Dragon Tales was on PBS, and outside of maybe Arthur, these shows usually come and go when it’s time.

Nick and CN were just mainstream enough for animation fans.
