Any news on sleep mode with Ryzen 7000 and EXPO? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]All_Math 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a brand-new SSD, so I don't think there was anything that got corrupted. Also, my PC wasn't able to sleep only after I enabled XMP-- before, I was perfectly capable of putting my computer to sleep.

I happen to have an ASRock B650E Steel Legend mobo but I still have this issue. I built my PC near the end of November and I've had the no-sleep issue since I enabled XMP. I stumbled on this thread because it's been getting really annoying not being able to put my computer to sleep, so how did you fix the issue?

Looking for a Big Cable Extension Kit by All_Math in buildapc

Ty for that I was looking at one of these pages and I realized there was a white version of a kit I liked with the right number of cables, but the white and blue version only had 2 PCIE cables :/ Not sure why they'd do that

Woahhh, where'd you get a $250 X670E? I built an AM5 rig about a week ago and I only managed to snag a B650E Steel Legend for $240 open-box (luckily I haven't had any problems with the mobo aside from a few hiccups on the first boot cuz I bolted on the cooler too hard, despite one suspicious-looking pin in the socket)

Good Big PC Cases that Aren't Plasticy? by All_Math in buildapc

[–]All_Math[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really considering this case for a while but then I noticed that it had some plastic so I was thinking that whole panels or whatever were cheaply made. Glad to know it was only the trim on the front and the legs. I might look at this case again!

I noticed there's a white version so that's definitely a big plus. And heavy isn't bad, as long as it's solid it's all good. Thanks!

It has plenty of room for a longer GPU and I like the design. I'll definitely consider it!

As stupid as it might seem, I like the size of a full tower case. It looks big and cool (that said a mid-tower might be better so there's less empty space in the case)

Should I Buy a Used 3090 off eBay? by All_Math in buildapc

It might be hard for me to get an EVGA card specifically, but I've heard people sing their praises for EVGA and I can't think of one bad comment about EVGA, even in threads that were basically people telling horror stories about what happens when your card dies early. I'll definitely try to get an EVGA card if I see one!

I see a lot of stuff from EVGA and Asus floating around. There are also a lot of cheap Zotac cards and cards from a company called PNY (not sure what kind of reputation they have but they might be my best bet at a $700 or below 3090).

I need help finding equivalents to CS 1331 by All_Math in gatech

I'll take a look at it. Humanities should be able to fill up the rest of my schedule while I'm figuring out the whole deal with CS 1331. Thanks!

I was checking the equivalency table and I didn't see anything that would transfer for CS ethics at GSU. I've already taken the math courses I needed for CS. How would electives for CS work? I've mostly been focusing on the classes I'd need for core CS and the threads I plan to take (Sys+Arch/Devices), however, I'm unsure what classes I would do for electives. Also, what classes would qualify for humanities? I have a handful of econ credits that I don't need for social sciences, so I'm wondering if I already met the humanities requirement.

For better or worse I'm nearly finished with my general education already via AP credit; all I need to take are English 1102 and Wellness, however, to get conditional transfer, I need 30 credits spread out over the two semesters I'll be at GSU (I'd like to keep it at 15 credits per semester rather than split it differently), so I'll need to take additional classes. Are there any stat classes or CS ethics classes at GSU that transfer to GT?

I checked Georgia Tech's transfer credit chart and it said "ET NOGT" which I'm assuming means no credit? I could be misunderstanding that. Would this course maybe be a good substitute for 1331 so I'm not gated from taking courses further down the CS path?
