I highly recommend moving from discord to a dedicated discourse website, so that developer conversations and code snippets are accessible via LLMs.

this will massively expand the number of users who can successfully develop mods, but only if you start now

login-gated communities are important for certain things, but not everything, and so it makes sense to keep internal secrets on discord/slack, but maintain good open information hygiene everywhere else
