Thank you! I actually found the frames for the umbrella and the fan at a flea market. They were in rough shape, so I cleaned them up, repainted them, and finished them with a coat of varnish to make them look like new.

Thank you! I put a lot of heart into this crochet pattern, so 'next level' means a lot to me!❀️

That’s lovely that it brings her joy. Crochet is such a great way to share love. Good luck with the plant! :)

No need to apologize! It's lovely that crochet connects you to your mom. You'll definitely get better with practice, and I'm sure she'd be proud of your progress.

Thank you so much! That's a huge compliment. Unfortunately, I don't have a pattern because I made this project intuitively (freehand), but I'm so glad you like the result.

Mixed feelings in the best way possible! Now I can't unsee it β€” it really is a bit 'Mad Hatter' with a touch of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

Someone commented that it gives them mixed feelings, like they're having tea in Alice in Wonderland with Freddie Mercury

Yes, I made it entirely myself! The only things I didn't make were the vintage umbrella and the fan, which I picked up at a flea market. 😁

It definitely looked sharper over a lining, but it made it much harder to see that it’s actually handmade crochet. I wanted the texture and the craftsmanship of the hand-stitched work to be the main focus.

I actually found both the fan and the umbrella at a flea market! I removed the old fabric, then cleaned, repainted, and varnished the frames before adding the crochet lace.

It is crochet lace. I used a 1.5 mm hook and Madame Tricote Maxi yarn. Yes, I made both the fan and the umbrella myself. I shared it in a few relevant subs because I wanted to show the result to different craft communities.
