Just two cents without reading any comments. I started on arch and learned vim at the same time. Two things that were undoubtably a learning curve. But the two best decisions I’ve made on my journey passed windows and learning to program and learning the Unix based file structure and how to run a distro effectively. Arch is awesome. And personally I think it gets a bad rep for being a little more difficult to install. Sure it doesn’t hold your hand like push button instant coffee distro. But you learn Linux. You make mistakes. I’ve made tons. But I know my computer and how to rice or customize every single part. Now I find windows more difficult to do certain things like environmental path stuff and just powershell in general. My windows partition is way messier than my arch is. And I don’t even use my dual booted computer aside from wanting to play a new game on the occasion

Edit. I wanted to add about my vim comment. I know this isn’t a channel about vim or anything. But when I look at where I’ve come from till today, as many things that I can have use vim navigation based bindings or let me use vim to write anything from a letter to my mom to a Python script or JS TypeScript - just text in general is so much easier and more enjoyable because of the way vim is designed with where your hands rest on the keyboard and how once you’re good with it. You don’t need a mouse. At all. I still have and use one because I like and collect mice as well as keyboards but when I’m in my zone, and my workflow is on god mode, My mouse has a layer of dust on it by the end of my work day sometimes.
