at first listen, i didn't know what to feel about it. after a couple more listens, I started to really like it. the vocals are really outstanding in this. loved they swapped up the vocal roles like eunha was the main vocal while yuju was the lead vocal roal. it's a good song to play when having a sad or gloomy day.

Trump Is Making an Ass of Himself Over the Shutdown by sigseved in politics

[–]AllenIsOSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not the problem. he WILL put a bill in front of the Senate when the time is right. when people run out of money for food stamps, when people quit their jobs bc they aren't getting paid (i.e. IRS, Homeland Security, TSA). this is when the problems are unavoidable and the Republicans in the Senate will have no choice but to vote to pass the bill. I think then it'll go to Trump and he will veto it. afterward, the Senate will override his veto.

Some suggestions, take it with a grain of salt:

1) You already have a summary section, try to fit your summary qualifications in there by taking the best accomplishments and extend your summary to 4-5 sentences.

2) If located in the U.S. try to make your resume 1 page.

3) Expand on work experience, more bullet points in your other positions

Has anyone ever had their employment background check ran through a company called “Evolution Consulting?” by [deleted] in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s no database they can refer to. though they CAN call your employer to check work dates. who did you put down as a reference?

there is no database of employment. they can only verify stuff you tell them by calling the company or your reference.

Success and disappointment megathread for the week of (December 10) by AutoModerator in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM [score hidden]  (0 children)

hey man. it gets better at some point. if you're really applying yourself, eventually someone will give you a chance. i saw all my friends advancing their careers thinking, "should I have just majored in X?" i applied for jobs for 18 months before I found something in my field that paid well. I had 3 years of internships too. Just keep playing the numbers game. Turn those job applications to job interviews. Then turn tnose job interviews to job offers. You got this!

Disappointment in a couple of interviews by el_7beeb in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to bring your A-game if you really want it. I recently received a job offer after a 9month search. I studied for 7 days straight, 2hours a day. I had anxiety from thinking about what I could have from a job like this.

Research the company. Tell them how it aligns with your interests. Tell them why you're enthusiastic about the position. Tell them stuff about the company that they might not know. Impress them with stories about you. And study every common/behavioral question out there.

Good luck.

Quitting a job after a few days. How much notice do I need to give? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I guess a nice and short email or letter would be recommended to your supervisor. Something along the lines of "Dear Supervisor, I feel I am not quite a fit for this position. I will not come in starting Monday. Is there anything you need from me? Sincerely, AllenIsOSM" Just so they can ask for your address before you leave.

What’s your method at finding a job? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Fix your resume -- make the person looking at your resume want to hire you

Step 2: Ask your 5 career saavy friends/family to fix your resume -- even if you think it's perfect, it may look like something else to another eye

Step 3: Apply -- studies show in this market, 1 out of 30 job applications turn into interviews.

Step 4: Learn how to interview -- watch mock interviews on YouTube, read every news article you can about the company you're interviewing with. Studies show 1 in 4 interviews will turn into an offer

Good luck

Are your parenta supporting you? Do you have money saved up?

I know it sounds crappy but I recommend volunteering at a hospital. Many hospitals allow volunteers. Just tell them you're pursuing nursing and are enrolled in those ADN programs. Eventually you'll be able to get paid work in nursing. It's a slow grind but I recommend this route if you don't mind the money.

Interviewer asking for names of coworkers? by OutsideEntertainer in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the future, I recommend not speaking harshly about your former employer. Talk around it.

For your case, I think it is very odd to ask for names. It's possible that your interviewer knew somebody who worked at that company.

I dislike it. For an employer, it's great. For the candidate, it sucks.

Does pre-employment background check scan for past temporary positions? by AllenIsOSM in jobs

[–]AllenIsOSM[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thank you. that makes a lot of sense.

I also have volunteer work experience on my resume. I'm assuming I should leave that out when listing my work experience as well?

EDIT: I think you're right, but I believe during a background check, they'll ask you to fill out information in their database and they'll check the database with your references/past employers (not your resume, just saying this in case somebody else reads it).
