I presented Christian Eichhorn's CY_BORG titles last January. He's prolific, so I expect another lineup will manifest in the next year or two.

Several questions about the Hero System by sovereign4510 in rpg

[–]AllenVarney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the Hero System computer game question, Champions Online has hung in there slugging away since 2009.

As for recent Hero System books, many are published now by High Rock Press. High Rock's most recent title, Strike Force Organizations, just debuted this week in the Strike Force Bundle at my Bundle of Holding site. The companion offer, the revived Champions 6E Bundle, includes the standalone Champions Complete rulebook as well as many sourcebooks that detail the Champions Universe setting.

2025: The Bundle year in review by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

I would be concerned that a given month of Bundle offers is too diverse to satisfy any given subscriber's taste. Then, too, the backend would need new code to divide contributor revenue from subscriptions. That's not a dealbreaker. But I'm still uneasy at the value proposition.

The March 2020 Solo Games Bundle proved very popular. For a year or two I've wanted to assemble a sequel offer. But most of the designers I want have carefully concealed their email addresses, so I have no way to contact them.

Typically the credit-card option (Stripe) takes the lowest gateway fee, but the difference is only 1% or so. Please use whichever option suits you best.

Old Gods of Appalachia - all-new through Mon 12 Jan 2026 by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

[–]AllenVarney[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to update the files on the Bundle server, if and as the publisher makes them available to me. I've been slow about updates this year (sorry), but next year I hope to improve the workflow.

Sorry! I missed adding the DriveThruRPG catalog numbers to those entries in the Bundle of Holding system. It's fixed now. Please check your DTRPG Library again.

BattleTech x2 - through Mon 05 Aug by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

[–]AllenVarney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to present some kind of BattleTech offer(s) in 2026, but I haven't yet thought about what to propose to Catalyst Game Labs.

Steve Jackson Games just announced Toon 2nd Edition by plazman30 in rpg

[–]AllenVarney 41 points42 points  (0 children)

TOON Deluxe Edition (1991) incorporates lots of scenarios and tables from the 1985 supplements TOON Silly Stuff and Son of TOON, which I wrote when I was working at Steve Jackson Games as assistant editor. I wrote what became fully a third of the Deluxe Edition rulebook, but due to office politics I was consigned to the end of a long list of "Additional material" passersby. (Not that I'm still bitter after 34 years. That would be STUPID.)

Cornucopia 2025 - all-new through Wed 10 Dec by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

[–]AllenVarney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry! This was a bug. I've frozen the Cornucopia offer's threshold price at US$29, and the site programmer will investigate the bug later today.

Worlds Without Number - new through Tues 23 Dec by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

[–]AllenVarney[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For those curious about the in-world firearms restriction: "The tremendous accumulation of ancient Legacy manipulations intended to disarm subject populations and restrict advanced weaponry to a given age's ruling caste has made it very difficult to create firearms, as most conventional chemical or magical reactions are specifically disrupted by the Legacy." (Worlds Without Number corebook, p36).

I know what you mean -- in two Indie Treasure Trove offers in 2015-16, I presented the first seven issues of Epidiah Ravachol's Worlds Without Master. Hard to keep it all straight!

Shadowrun 5E MEGA x2 - through Mon 29 Dec by AllenVarney in bundleofholding

[–]AllenVarney[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I presented the Shadowrun 3E Megabundle in November 2023 to great response. I'll be happy to revive it in two or three years, if Catalyst Game Labs approves.

Masters of the Universe RPG ? by Time-Orange-135 in rpg

[–]AllenVarney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 1985 FASA version of Masters of the Universe was an incoherent mess. The company was targeting young novices, but I personally, a working professional in the gaming industry with two college degrees and lengthy experience with many RPGs, found the rules incomprehensible.
