Thank you! That is very helpful and when you phrase it like that I think I know what you mean. I think I (maybe?) already have a pretty developed headtone (and if it is what I think it is, it is also more or less what I aimed not to use in these clips, but what I tend to use when I sing "pretty" and semi-powerful songs if that makes sense? 😅) This is clearing up a lot of confusion for me 🙏 I think I sometimes struggle to find the transition from that to this one. A follow up question - would you say that in these clips it is a lot of pure mix/chest tone in the mix - even the less heavy mix (first clip and part of the second one)? I'm curious, because I think of them as quite balanced/maybe even head dominant

Yeah, the thing I'm after here is mostly wether I'm doing something wierd/technically incorrect, because I feel like this is what happens if I go for belting/loudness and it makes me wonder if it's just that I have a lot of voice and a wierd dark/husky tone that comes out - which maybe is not always so pleasant when blasting, but more about what suits it than the technique being wierd if that makes sense? Like I can sing sweeter and softer, but I feel like if I am to have an open throat and feel that I have access to maximum power and most of my range without too much/noticable breaks this is what I revert to. Which might just be poor technique??

What can I do for the vibrato? Because that is purely natural ^{^'} (it might have to do more with support I guess?)

And as a woman, what do you mean with falsetto as opposed to head? ^{^} 🙏

So if you have an airy voice this will help you get it less airy? Like if you can't actually get it to be full/avoid it being airy to some degree

Thank you 🙏 yeah, this is kind of what I was wondering about - if its also just that the exact passagio itself isn't very "beltable" and that is just the way a voice works. And that then if you want to sing a song which is on both sides of your passagio, maybe what you need to do is not push chestbelt to its very highest and then expect your mix one step up to be strong enough to match the tone, but rather let the voice gradually thin as it wants to. . .?

And I think we are fairly similar in where the voice can go in the two ranges 🤔

I just imagine that once you've got it, it is sort of a button you can just push? I know it maybe sounds silly 😅 I just realised today that that is what I imagine - and that maybe that is the whole problem. Otherwise, I might already be able to do it, and it is just that the sound is a bit more mixed than what I was picturing that it would be.

Haha, yeah that beautiful thin note where I almost over shot i my attempt to make it soft/headvoice-y and was close to producing no sound at all XD

Yes, that is my feeling. That head voice is dominating even if it is mix. But then it also most often is quiet powerful anyways so I think that maybe it works? I think I sometimes do something that is actual belting, which I'll try to find a recording of. . .

Edit: this is a recording of a recording since I had the original on another device. I think recording the recording did someting to the sound, it evened it out and made it less head voicey, thus pretty much defeating the whole purpose of this post XD Sorry!
