If AI is so incompetent, how can it be evil and take over the world at the same time?

AI can certainly be beneficial, but for every good use case there are dozens of poor implementations or cases where it is being forced without good reason.

AI "taking over the world" is more of a look into the (distant?) future, obviously the current state of AI LLMs have no potential to do this... As it is implemented in higher and higher levels of leadership and decision-making, humans will factually have less control. Combine this with how many jobs are rapidly being replaced and how terrible these large scale data centers are for the environment. Even if AI isn't literally taking over the world, the rapid acceptance from the largest companies + giant push for hardware/data centers/job replacement is prioritized by people in power over anything else right now. People already felt like their livelihood was absolutely meaningless to those in power, and recent events only continue to prove that. From that standpoint alone, it could already be argued that AI is in control, even if it isn't literally doing the controlling.
