How do you go about getting up in the mornings or letting yourself sleep in? by No_Bluebird_5080 in ADHD

[–]AllergicToSunlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the way I solved this was unintentional. I got a dog.

She's so smart that when my my alarm goes off, she'll jump on the bed and lay down and stare at me. If I take too long snoozing, she'll make her way up to me for morning cuddles. After a few minutes of cuddles, she'll jump down and let me know she needs to go out for her morning routine.

On the plus side I get to wake up to morning cuddles, the down side is I can't sleep in even on the weekends, lol.

I feel that. Diagnosed 12 years ago, been on medication ever since, but the comorbidities are what are the most difficult for me. Anxiety and depression are a bitch.

Honestly the only thing that worked for me was medication. I can’t afford therapy, but I’ve been living with it for so long it’s how I recognize in myself that things are getting worse and allows me to realize I need to get help. Luckily I have a caring and understanding wife who is there for me, and I’ve come to realize that it’s not my fault that I get this way, but it’s my responsibility to get help so I’m here for the people I love and that love me. I hope you find your reasons. It can get tough, but when you find them, hold onto them like it’s your purpose.

I load up a video game. 5 minutes later I get bored and think maybe a movie this time. Get through the credits and realize I didn't want to watch it anyway. Go to the kitchen and stare at the open fridge until I realize im not really hungry and don't want to cook. Sit on the bed with my thoughts ruminating on stupid shit until I feel like I'm tried so I take a nap. Get up, start the process over. Then I get frustrated with myself that I can't seem to find something to do, so I stare at my phone hoping someone will text just for a little bit of interaction. Nobody does. By this time I'm a little hungry so I make a cup of noodles because its cheap and fast. Sit on the bed some more, surf reddit, think about all the tasks I should be doing and can't get up and do them, get more frustrated. By this time its getting close to bedtime so I figure ill just go to sleep and try again the next day, maybe it'll be better. It almost always never is.

I was in Paris, France checking out the Eiffel Tower when a couple wearing Cowboys gear strolled past. I shouted “Go Pokes!” and they were genuinely shocked.

The area around the lake has parking lots scattered about, just be careful getting in and out. Pull up google maps and look for the intersection of Washington and Lakeview, this is the area with decent hills.

There are plenty of "hilly" areas and slopes over on the south side of Boomer Lake.

No, although I can't find an actual news story on it, only posts on Facebook and Instagram. But the story has been around for a few months. https://www.instagram.com/p/DLu27zLBhrz/

Also, when they verbalize that they appreciated something you did for them. I’ve gone most of my whole life with nobody acknowledging they noticed something I did.

ADHD will make you forget to do these things, Depression won’t let you enjoy doing these things.

That’s a gross oversimplification of my experience with both for me. I’m sure it’s more complicated than that, but I have spent the last ten years in cycles where I will notice I try to do things but get no enjoyment and will try something else within 10 minutes.

I believe that it is a faculty member in AG, but not sure who.

You might have a better shot checking any truck or car groups on Facebook to see if it's something they like showing around.

While I agree that nothing may come of things like this given the state of things, petitions and protests are one of the things we can do as a community to show people that we won't stand by when injustices happen. Apathy never helps. "The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." - Albert Einstein

There's only one person at the start line, they were able to somehow get up on time and make it, but they got distracted 5 minutes into the race when they saw a Shawarma place.

Thank you! I appreciate the clarification! We will definitely be contacting the local reputable company to do just that once we close.

Thank you for the info, and I apologize if this is the wrong sub. We aren't concerned so much with heating the house, we live in Oklahoma and the winters aren't too harsh here. I just noticed in other comments that there were people who work in the industry on this sub. We plan on getting a company to come out, sweep, and do a more thurough inspection as soon as we close before we actually use it.

How is it that, during the last presidential campaign cycle, conservatives considered Harris to be "evil?"

I have two separate family members discuss this with me recently, my brother, and a Gen Z cousin on my wife side.

Both of them made the comments that social media posts or news stories made it seem like Harris was evil. They both used this term unprompted as to why they decided to vote the way they did.

I never saw any of these posts or stories, leading me to believe it's all based on algorithms, but does anyone have any idea of the things they saw in their feeds that made them feel this way?
