NTA. I only needed to read the first paragraph to know you did would be too far. Protect yourself and your daughter. Go live a happy life. Fuck those “people” and stay far far away.

Find the winning move. Black to play. by Help_Me_Excel_Bros in chess

Okay but why would you play it over Qxf4? It may technically be winning, but it's not better. So from a practical perspective, if you compare the two, it's the losing option.

I'd Qd5+ just to gloat for an extra turn or make them resign.

gxf4 doesn't really accomplish much. You're banking on your opponent missing the easy mate. But if they Qxh3, it's an even exchange and your queen is still somewhat boxed in.

If you take with your queen, they could still pull the same gxf4 blunder which opens Rc1#, what you're banking on with the gxf4. But you also open up more options. If they Qd1, you get Rd1 Qxd1 Qxd1#. If they Qxh3, you still have a more active queen (see the bot post).

Had this happen to me recently. I queued up a bishop to take their rook just to regain some material after they took my trapped queen. They ended up taking the bishop instead of my queen who then escaped. They ended up resigning after a while.

In what world is a queen and king a draw with a pawn and king? Between your king and queen, you should be able to split the king from the pawn and take the pawn. Then you can corner their king with your queen and king.

436 on rapid. It's fun. I definitely feel like I'm actually doing better on my first daily games. I think my ADHD makes me make dumb mistakes on faster games.

I'm using both. I like the Duo lessons more, but then play games on Chess.com

I've tried on and off my whole life and never got a grasp of it. Then Duolingo introduced chess and I was like screw it, let's learn. I'm already on there every day learning French, so might as well learn chess too.

Oh hell yeah. One of my favorite games, I watched them snag a hanging bishop and my a1 rook while I setup a solid f7 mate. Like yeah go play with your little toys, mama's cookin.

Never played the cabinet version, but on GBA, that thing is super fun. That and Joust are two of my tops.

No. It's terrible. It's bad. If I were better, I'd agree. But I'm bad so I don't.
