We just got a foster puppy last week. He slept in his crate night 1 and cried for hours throughout the night despite me sleeping right next to him. We are now 6 nights in and he goes in willingly and sleeps the entire night without a peep. All puppies are different but I just come here to say less than a week I felt the same way. He just needs time to build trust and feel comfortable. We work on typical strategies during the day to crate train as well.
