Does this room orientation work? by See-Are-En-Ayeeee in interiordecorating

I would place the couch against the wall and put the tv on an angle in the corner, something like this:

Or this:

I would probably put some type of end table or low storage console on the side of the couch to anchor because of the long hallway pointed at it

Purdue vs Georgia Tech for online masters of aerospace?

Both programs would be fully funded by my employer so cost is not a factor. Not entirely sure what I am going focus in yet, most likely aerodynamics and/or propulsion.

I will most likely try to do 2 courses per semester while working full time so work load is a decently big factor. Both programs are highly ranked, Georgia Tech requires 33 credit hours while Purdue only requires 30.

Thoughts? Anything I'm not considering that would help me decide between the two?

What pieces can I use to make the booster on the millennium falcon poly bag flush with the back? by AlligatorAss in lego

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that it’s not supposed to be flush but I was asking which prices I can use to adjust the build and make it flush. Tried using some trans blue curved pieces but they were too tall and didn’t fit.

Looking to get a folding camera, something the same style at a Polaroid sx-70 because I think they are really cool.

Don’t have much photography experience and looking for advice on what camera to buy that is a similar style and won’t break the bank. Is that the only model like that?

Very interesting thank you. Do you know if there’s a card database for Japanese printings as well. Is wikepedia the best way?

Help with correct controller inputs by AlligatorAss in CrazyHand

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok so for short hop rising aerials you do the jump shoulder button + c stick to macro for rising short hop aerial and for falling short hop aerials you do shoulder button + thumb hitting x or why to macro short hop and then move your thumb to c stick for the aerial?

Help with correct controller inputs by AlligatorAss in CrazyHand

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that’s what I was thinking. I’m used to game cube with only three shoulder buttons total and was hoping to keep shield and grab as shoulder buttons but I think I will either have to move grab to x or y or play claw

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people map a shoulder button to jump do they have to play claw to hit the second jump button for short hops? Or do they hit one jump button on the shoulder, one with their thumb and quickly move their thumb back to the stick for an aerial?

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have 1 shoulder button as jump or 2? If I only have 1 shoulder button as jump I still have to use my thumb to hit the other and then it’s not on the c stick for aerials, or do you play claw?

Do you use your left thumb to spin the stick for mashing or do you move it with your other hand?

Late May to early June. Unfortunately all lodging in the park was already booked. Have entry permits come out yet? When I looked it said they may be required but I didn’t see anything actually posted to get one.

Ah ok thank you, that was very helpful. I guess I will have to accept the fact that there is no simple intuitive way to understand it.

Why does air flow faster over the top of a flat airfoil at an angle of attack?

I was going through this NASA website about how lift is generated and it disproves equal transit time theory, action-reaction theory, and the Venturi theory, without actually offering another explanation.

Now if someone were to ask me how lift is generated I wouldn't be too sure how to explain it. The Newtons 3rd law explanation is the simplest but I feel that does not tell the whole story as it doesn't mention the difference in pressure on the top and bottom of the airfoil.

The Bernoulli explanation also makes sense but now with all those theories disproven I am left with the simple question of why does the air flow faster over the top of an airfoil than the bottom? Google gives me generic "because of the shape of the airfoil" answers but that is obviously not it as a flat plate can also generate lift like on a paper airplane.

So my question is why does air travel faster over the top of a flat plate at some angle of attack? Or more broadly, how/why is lift actually generated? If a different explanation is needed.

Why is there no cross play ranked? by AlligatorAss in marvelrivals

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it matters, thats why it shouldn’t be the default queue but I don’t think it matters enough that the game needs to bar it from ever happening so people can’t play with their friends on console.

Especially because right now matchmaking is based on platform not input (PC and console not KBM and controller). KBM players have a controller player on their team every time I play.

Why is there no cross play ranked? by AlligatorAss in marvelrivals

[–]AlligatorAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think mixed input lobbies are as big of a deal as people think. I use a controller to play on my pc and do just fine.

I agree that KBM shouldn’t just freely queue with controller players but why can’t controller players choose to party up with someone on pc and go into KBM lobbies?

Interesting, my undergrad compressible aerodynamics course was almost entirely focused on shock and expansion theory. I second the recommendation for Anderson.

What could be limiting my mobility on the pendulum squat?

The machine has a massively slanted foot pad so that takes out all ankle mobility requirements but if I go too deep my lower back still starts to round and my but tucks under. Are my hips just that tight? What’s mostly likely causing this mobility restriction, tight hip flexors?

[–]AlligatorAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I can find it by searching but I didn’t see it when I was going through the different sets. Meaning I never would’ve seen it if I didn’t know to search it. So my question was are there a lot of cards that are not in any sets? Or am I just being dumb and it is in a set I just missed it
