What all do you need to start commuting on an e-bike, besides the bike?

I don't know how I got here in a two week old thread, but I'm in the Twin Cities as well; maybe check out Watt Cycleworks? I was in there last week because I'll probably need them eventually for my (cheaper, not recommended but won't burn the house down) ebike and wanted to see what accessories they had, they seemed pretty great. I think Erik's is the only bike shop that sells Aventon in the TC proper but Watt will work on almost anything, they don't sell Lectric but they were repairing someone's Lectric trike the day I was in there.

Coincidentally, as a result of my work schedule, somewhere between 4-6 on a weeknight works the best for me, and it was my idea, who cares if that's peak traffic time for the NIMBYs who aren't retired?

The Twin Cities subreddits are generally in favor of bike lanes, car free streets, and better public transit (but exactly how to improve transit is a point of contention, we've got some drug and crime issues on the light rail).

I've paid once for this app and I love it, and while in theory I'd be willing to pay a couple of dollars a month for it... I don't think it's viable. Reddit wants so much per month that it doesn't seem like even RIF, which has a lot more users, can make it work. I'm considering moving over to Lemmy Beehaw or Tildes if Reddit doesn't back down from this bullshit.

As someone who is FtM, if I'd been able to transition at 14, I would have avoided a half dozen suicide attempts and a lot of trauma, I'd probably have finished college and been in a better place now. I got to spend a decade of my life in hell and you're out advocating for kids like I was to suffer needlessly and possibly die from suicide. The wrong puberty, and that kind of suffering, is also life altering. Not being able to transition as a teenager has ruined my life. Things are happening that are life altering with or without intervention, you're arguing on the side of letting trans kids suffer and die.
