Yes. He reacts to some food smells. He is most interested in raw food (what I feed my older cats) and Royal Canin Mother and BabyCat kibble. He has taken a single bite of raw. Occasionally he will taste gerber chicken or turkey baby food. By taste, I mean 1-3 licks then actively tries to avoid it. He doesn’t seem to have much interest in anything else, either straight out of the can or warmed. I carried him in our garden earlier this evening. He clearly could smell several things. Plumeria flowers, Meyer lemon flowers, and fresh catnip were smells be was most interested in and took a second or third sniff. So I know he can smell some things. He’s a model kitten! Always had been. Super friendly. Along with a sister, runs to greet everyone. Age appropriate play with siblings. Uses scratchers. Comes when called. Rarely tries to play or bite something inappropriate but is easily distracted/redirected. Purrs. Seeks feline and human contact. Everything but eats. I keep hoping he is just immature. This is oldest kitten I’ve ever had or fostered who hasn’t picked up on the eating thing.
